ADHD could be successfully and cheaply treated by prescribing one smack on the arse, three times a day for one month.
I agree, although not completely.
I have no doubt that ADHD exists as a condition. Howeber, I think ADHD is over-diagnosed, and I think a lot of parents diagnose their own kids with ADHD without even seeing a GP, let alone any kind of sepcialist. I know at the school my mum worked at, she was quite used to parents telling her that their little darling had ADHD, and when my mum quite rightly asked for a statement, or something else to prove the diagnosis, they couldn't come up with anything. One or two even said they didn't have anything, they just 'knew'. I think a lot of parents think there might be additional support for children with ADHD (I don't know if this is the case or not) and so try to gain advantage for their children by getting extra support where none is needed.
Of course, all this does is increase scepticism in wider society about the genuine cases of ADHD, which makes is much harder for the parents of those children to get adequate support, which is bordering on criminal imo.

BIB no unless they are statemented and even then usually not as its high incidence
- TOWIE is weird
- KFC smells like dog food and just looking at it makes me sick
I feel sorry for Whitney Houston and her family (yes she had problems but nobody chooses to be addicted). And people who post jokes/ death pictures of her on FB are tapped in the head
Or through education. Too many young women leave school with no qualifications and seem to only have a purpose to procreate. Also, more kids = more benefits. Well educated women are more likely to appreciate the trials and tribulations of having children and are less likely to have children they can't afford.
Despite being a teenager through the 60's for me it was drummed in at an early age. Now that's gone and been replaced with 'kids have rights'.
I will be 64 this year and I think that medical science is ruining the economy by prolonging the lives of old people. I would be quite content to have my three score years and ten but I know a lot of 80 and 90+ people who are costing the country a fortune in health care. Most of them like me are women who never paid full National Insurance because years ago married women paid a very reduced Insurance Stamp. I feel quite guilty drawing my £67 pension because although I have had part time jobs all my life I didn't earn enough to pay tax.

Like in Logan's Run?
I don't think a one-child policy would work. Look at China.
Elderly people do not automatically deserve respect. They should earn it like everybody else.
Which is where you and I will agree to disagree.
I've always shown respect to anyone older than myself. Showing respect does not mean you have to agree with their views, or bow before them........just plain common courtesy which is sadly lacking today.
Mums should be banned from facebook. I do not want to see a picture of your womb , i do not care that you are pregnant and i do not need an update every time your brat does something.
Old people need to earn respect as much as the young, just because you are old doesnt mean you should be treated like royalty, and cover your mouths when you cough!
Birds should not be kept as pets in cages, this is cruel.
People who earn more than £25.000 a year and go on strike complaining about pay should be sacked and only allowed to earn minimum wage for the rest of their lives.

let it drop.
you have made it clear what you think.
I agree, although not completely.

You alerted me on your other thread and my comment got deleted. Fair enough, if that's what the mods decided.
This is a different thread for airing unpopular opinions. I can post what I like.
YOU let it drop.
Agreed but how do you suggest we sort it?

A cull!
One-child policy? (Bit fascist)

Imagine if the Daily Mail ever got hold of you!
Fair point, by the way.

I agree with what you say about education though.
I think everybody deserves respect until they give you a reason otherwise.
Sorry, this what I meant. Basically just because you are elderly does not mean you automatically get more respect than everybody else.
Fair enough.

How would you punish criminals instead?
Of course they would. Human nature an' all

Phew, that feels good.
