    I think what J & E lack is a simple human decency.

The basic acknowledgement that not everyone is like them. Not everyone wants to be them, not everyone thinks like them. I do think that comes from a very exclusive upbringing in the wilds of Norfolk.

But you say they were alright with some coachies and not others - yes, but even the ones they liked there would have been something they didn't - the way they spoke, their job, class, district that they live in. Even the ones they tolerated they wouldn't have gone out of their way for.

Its very telling that they removed themselves from the group - even from the ones they have no problem with. Which suggests a general bad socialisation with other human beings.

You could well be right but I think it is more simple than that. After 3 weeks or whatever it is now, my guess is that it's dawned on them that they have no control of what they do day to day.

They might have thought it would be a cheap laugh at the plebs holiday but now the truth is apparent.

They can't just do as they please, they have to spend every day doing just as they are told and it is getting to them

It must be just like being back at boarding school and they are now doing everything they can to jump ship cos they don't like having Brennie as school-master.

    Just a possibility.l:)

I liked J&E until the end of this week- I thought they were just knowingly living up to a comedy stereotype, but sadly, it appears it's actually their real personality!

Also, forgot to mention I believe I saw forum regular Anne (with Geoff!) in a Sheffield branch of Weatherspoons several weeks back, but I was too shy to say hello!

Oh that would have definitely been them. They love Weatherspoons. You should have gone and said hi!

Well I was with a group of friends and I kept trying to catch one of their eyes and smile, but I was slightly worse for wear at the time (this was a Saturday lunchtime ) so I didn't want to go trollying over to them and leave them terrified!

I should have introduced myself by my forum name, really!

Oh Anne would have loved that! I know she's not been on here for a bit but I've spoken to her on FB. It would have made her day...

    Look out for next time..:)

I'm at uni up here and I frequent that Weatherspoons a fair bit so I'll keep my eye out.

I think her daughter works there. I know she works at a Weatherspoons so it could possibly be the same one.

Just tell her your DS name and I'm sure she'd be delighted. Say Hi from me too if you see her!

I think someone said at the start of the trip that J and E might be actors since they seemed such caricatures. They are inconsistent - if it's a game they're playing I've not worked out what it is.

I've even thought that they might be part of the production team at times! Everyone seemed to acccept them and presumably liked them until fairly recently. They say, deadpan, "We quite agree that we are like that, and surprised no-one's picked up on it before."

I agree that they are inconsistent. Something doesn't quite ring true.

I also feel that we are not being shown a lot of what goes on making it hard to understand some situations.

    !

Some of us have been saying this from the beginning.

I was stunned that people actually thought it was an "act".

    Ha ha! Genius TV. :D
I genuinely thought that this show was pretty much on its last legs.. the last couple of series have been pretty poor and I've not bothered but this series has been so much fun to watch... so far!
Hats off to the production team.
A lot of their behaviour is definately an act.. everytime they look away from the camera , you can see they're about to crack up.
And I have to say that rudeness takes many forms and those women were just as rude to E&J as E&J have been to them, it was those two that made the coach journey awkward for everyone; not E&J.
I also think Ladi was quite right to get the hump about lou or chez simply saying ok, we all vote for beardy & daughter.
Looking forward to the coming week now :)

If this is genius TV to you, then you really could be a pleb and the production team are just looking for the most extreme reaction they can find.

I would suspect that you really are from "upstairs" but any duffer that types "definately", definitely has had no proper education.:p

 very poor form commenting on a chaps spelling  Of course one can only worry about the breeding of someon who shortens the word plebian to pleb :p sometimes my fingers are too quick.. I often type 'teh' instead of 'the' as well... strange but true That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it :p
The point I was making was that a pretty tired looking format has been livened up with a couple of good production decisions.

And I was just disagreeing and pointing out that bad spelling is poor form and a distinct show of lower breeding. Damn, there is no pleb smiley.

we're probably not disagreeing as it happens... it is afterall a fairly low brow level of entertainment. I happen to enjoy a bit of "chewing gum for the eyes" when eating my dinner and it fits the bill quite nicely along with Come dine with me (although I have a much lower tolerance level with that show). :)
I believe this -> can be used to indicate one's plebian status.. well judging by some of the reactions it provokes .
Right, I'm off to see what cook has rustled up for supper. ;)

I'm taking you to task as well, Justabloke :). No way have the new women been "just as rude to J and E". As far as I could see, they were attempting to engage in conversation with them but being constantly rebuffed.
I agree with you though that the show is getting all the more interesting. :p

Ah sorry, Justabloke, I remember now that one of the new women had a go at J and E on the coach in Friday's show. This must be the rudeness you referred to. In her defence though, the boys had provoked her into speaking out so vehemently.

I'm wondering why J & E have been on the show for so long without receiving a yellow card or any really adverse comments apart from 'negative nancies' and with which they agreed was fair comment, and why the two black guys actually picked them as their favourite couple. It's a bit weird.

People who've been on Coach Trip: When speaking to camera, do you thnk it possible that they have been encouraged to act in this over-the-top way?

Sitting two complete opposites facing each other on a long distance coach is exactly the ploy used in Come Dine With me. It's the modern day form of cock-fighting, setting people at each other's throats. Maybe they know this and resent it and don't want to play the game any longer?

They've given value for money and I enjoyed the mud massage. I'm not sure about a lot of what is going on, but one thing I am sure of is that conflict is welcomed. ;)

This series is so good- it's been a long time (since Series 4, actually) that I've been wanting Monday to come round so I can get the next installment but this series has managed it. All they need to do now is bin Celebrity Coach Trip and I'll be back on board!

I,m thinking that Laddie and his friend might leave, as the out burst was like the one between Bruce and Tam.
