The following planning application:

http://www2.hertsmere.gov.uk/ACOLNET/DCOnline/acolnetcgi.gov?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPNAME=Root.PgeResultDetail&TheSystemkey=79323

is for the retention of the portacabins at Elstree Studios for a further 3 years for staffing Big Brother.

So BB will be with us at the current location until 2015.

Good news thanks for the heads up.

Very bad news for us if C5 are going to continue to show
what they call BB in its current form until 2015
lets hope they realise where they went wrong last year
    but i doubt it

    That's for sure!

Highly unlikely they'll ever admit to making mistakes.

Except for the LF (which I hope they bring back), they wont change anything from last year considering both BB12 and CBB9 were received well by the public.

They could always rebuild the house from the ground up like one year, so being in the same location doesn't have to be bad.

Bingo. There seems to be this divide within the Big Brother audience now. The traditionalists who want to see a live feed and those who just want to see a good highlights show and not be too concerned with a Live feed.

It is interesting how the last two shows were an actual success for Channel 5.

CBB was a success, BB12 was not, hence the move to extra weeks of CBB and fewer of proper BB.

    That's only an application.
They have only asked for an extension, it hasn't been granted yet.

The decision target date is the 3th April.

They don't get these extensions refused though. This one isn't asking for any changes to the current one that was accepted last year.

And it does show that 5 are committed to keeping BB for a further 3 years at least.

You do assume that this extension will be granted (suppose it could be refused but I would have thought that unlikely). It seems the local authority is keen on retaining a television entertainment use on the site - you get that flavour on reading all the planning officer comments etc - certainly on last years planning app.

I didn't realise much of the 'public' even watched BB12 judging by its quite frankly appalling ratings.

CBB9 was certainly a success for C5 though. And I enjoyed it, it was one of my favourite series in years.

What I mean is for the people who DID watch it, enjoyed it. They both because successes in terms of being good.

What good is that though if not enough of them are watching?

It started off low. No matter what, it was never going to get higher ratings. The fact that there was the smallest % in a while for BB12 and CBB9 from launch to final, and it was considered a success in terms of entertainment value.

They won;t change anything, they just need to LAUNCH with higher.
