I have only seen one or two of the Kenny ones and I thought they were good, certainly a better standard of drama than some stuff we've produced over the last few years. I think I'll give these a go. I'll keep a look out for bananaman:D
If it goes to a fourth series what are the chances of having someone from Borgen, Those Who Kill, The Bridge or even at a stretch Naeturvaktin in an episode??
An Event in Autumn
The Dogs of Riga
Before the Frost
Dogs of Riga was first filmed with Rolf Lassgard playing our hero.
Before the Frost was the first Henriksson Wallander film(And featured his daughter, Linda. Played by Johanna Sällström)
RIP Linda
Indeed.
Stefan Lindeman will be played by Mark Hadfield.

PS
Played by Ola Rapace in the Swedish TV versions

like you I have only seen a couple of the dear Kenny ones, but unlike you I didn't like them. Branagh's acting is so slow I just couldn't get into it. I'll give this a try though.
ILW ; congrats on the 3,000:D
Blimey, 3000:eek: I didn't even notice:o Thanks david:D I really must get out more:o:D
I didn't really notice Kenny's slow acting to be honest. The ones I saw seemed well made to me, but I did only see a couple. One of them was Sidetracked, I thought that was well acted and filmed:)
Saw him playing a spiv in an old episode of Foyle's War at the weekend.
I remember his Crown Court (he was the defendant, can't remember the verdict though)
I can't place him in anything mentioned on IMDB. Don't recognise his picture either. It will be strange watching Linda and Stefan on screen again.
And who will play Pontus and Isabelle(That will be Season 10?), I wonder. James Corden & Ruth Jones perhaps:o:o
He was very good in this film which was directed by Kenny B:

I could be wrong but I think Pontus and Isabelle were "original" characters created for the Krister Wallander. I say original but of course they were tenth-rate copies of Stefan and Linda. As Kenny's Wallander is following the example of Rolf's version and dramatising the original novels then P&I won't appear
Not according to IMDB
Before the Frost is a Linda centric novel( I read there was supposed to be a Linda Trilogy- but Mankell gave up on it for obvious reasons). All the remaining Swedish TV stories were specially written for the small screen.
Mankell has been involved in this new season. Peter Harness has consulted with Mankell about the new scripts.
An Event in Autumn is based on the short story Händelse om hösten (The Grave). Neither Krister or Rolf have done a version of this I think?
Apparently not

and I have so failed.......:D
I'm sure he's a very nice chap and all that but I find him the proud possessor of anti charisma in acute abundance.
Strange thing to get a knighthood for.......
Arise Sir Kenneth of Anti Charisma...................:o
Glad I'm not the only one.
Every time I watch Kenneth Branagh, I'm always left with the impression that I'm watching an actor ...an actor, playing a character, not the character themselves. I have the same problem with Laurence Olivier....it always seemed to be that he always played himself playing someone else, if that makes sense.
Paul Scofield on the other hand......
I know what you mean though oddly I have found Sir Larry of Olivier good in some things...Marathon Man for instance.
(Sir) Ken just turns all my faculties off..I watched his version of Firewall and just couldn't be arsed with it at all at all..kept having to rewind to try and follow it to no avail, whereas I really enjoyed the Swedish version.
Wallander is the only production that I've seen when I've liked Branagh! I thought he was perfect for it; more impenetrable than the other one.
Wallander Series 2, Faceless Killers
1/3 Wallander investigates the brutal slaying of an elderly couple at an isolated farmhouse.
A police leak of the wife's dying words leads to an outbreak of racist reprisals in Ystad. The fallout from the case leads Wallander to doubt everything, including his abilities as a police officer.
