I'll update the list if I can think of any more.
Oh, I'd like to add Baywatch and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
The 4400 (rubbish show, great theme tune).
I also like The Office; The Royale Family and The Smoking Room but not sure they count as the were "proper" songs anyway?

Brings back old memories watching that, used to love the show and it's crazy characters.
Those were the days
Hardcastle & McCormick
The Equaliser
The Wire ( all of 'em )
The Rockford Files
The Life & Time of David Lloyd George
Star Fleet
Magnum
I could go on but I won't.
I have to agree with the inclusion of David Lloyd George. The theme from 'The Persuaders' also get's my vote.
I also agree on the Persuaders theme which reminds me of the brilliant Protectors theme.

Extras and The Office (but both a bit of a cheat as they're not original i.e. they were songs before being used as theme tunes).
Midsomer Murders
Hustle (and not just because I'm watching it now)
Robin (the) Hood(ed Man) - Praed era and
Grange Hill
Sweeney -loved the way they reprised the opening theme melody in the closing theme, but made it all mellow and gentle, rather than punchy and aggressive as at the start. It helped you wind down at the end, and reflected the fact the stories often left you in a thoughtful and slightly sad mood at the end.
