I'm going to see tomorrow afternoons recordings, was beginning to wonder if Richard had legs, so shall see for myself....

He does indeed have legs, very long ones! My brother is 6ft 5, so I'm used to tall people, but Richard really is huge!

What was really nice to see was, while the contestants were waiting for the show to start, Richard and Alexander went over to have a little private chat with the contestants, to put them at their ease I guess, just seemed really sweet.

I don't usually read this thread as I tend to watch on iPlayer rather than live. But does anyone else think that they have become more conservative in their choice of contestants? We seem to get a higher proportion of parent-and-offspring teams now, and also a lot of quite bland student pairs.

Not sure if it was because of Paramaribogate or the move to BBC One, but I'm sure it used to be edgier. Oak leaf wine notwithstanding.

How can you add £250 to the jackpot with a Pointless answer, when in Rounds 2 and 3, the answers are pre-determined and hardly ever pointless?

Surely the answers are always predetermined, in that there is a list of pointless answers which Richard reads out at the end of each pass/round?

    I follow basketball.

    6ft 7 isn't that tall.

When you see someone who is 7ft 2 walk by you realise that.

No- in rounds 2 and 3- there are only 12 answers -hardly any of which are ever pointless- making a mockery of the title of the show and the adding £250 and jackpot updates.

That is not actually the point or the game though :)
It's much like snooker. Actually "snookering" people is part of the game, but only in certain situations and it's by no means essential to success or participation. The jackpot bonus is just a wee extra to spice things up a bit.

Also, it's not like they can abandon a question they've probably spent time and effort collating the answers for, just because it didn't yield a pointless answer
