Very Sad news. I was a big fan of hers when she was at her zenith in the 70's/80's. The MacArthur Park Suite was one of the first 12 inch singles i ever bought.
And i still have it. RIP.
I mean Donna is one of my fave artists....blasted Bad girls album the other day thinking id love her to make a new Nu-Disco style album....so so saddnedd by it
Beautiful woman, beautiful heart, beautiful voice.
She truly was gifted and I might rustle up a few friends and have a disco weekend in her very great honour!
I'm deeply saddened to see that the Big C has won where is narrowly failed a year of so ago with Nile Rodgers who was arguably Donna's male equivalent of Disco (as the main writer/producer in CHIC).
In an age where "singers" with dubious live vocal talents are lauded such as Britney Spears (who else is not looking forward to US X-Factor see her criticising acts vocal talents) & Rihanna, this is a sad timely reminder of what great authentic real artists were capable of Once Upon A Time:
such sad news and i had no idea she was ill. she made so many great records and like other people cited she was an inspiration for many other artists.:(
I Feel Love is one of the best if not THE best disco tunes of ALL Time.
RIP Donna Summer.:(
I disagree slightly. It is one of the best singles of ANY genre EVER. The 1981 Patrick Cowley remix is just one of the best remixes ever. I also LOVED No More Tears and MacArthur Park and not forgetting the best version of Could it be magic . R.I.P.

A really talented vocalist, and a disco pioneer to boot.

Me too, my mouth genuinely dropped.
Same here. I had no idea she was ill. May she rest in peace.

'Love to Love You Baby' and 'No More Tears' were iconic.
