I'm not being mean, but I honestly think she needs to lose some weight on her legs/thighs if she wants to continue to wear these tight leggings and jeans because it doesn't look good...
And the shoes were a mess. But she looked great other than that. She definitely needs an A-list stylist if she's going anywhere near the US...she used to be more polished during the Overcome era, but I think she's gone a bit 'rough around the edges' again, and I mean that nicely....I just think she needs to class it up a bit more tbh.

I think her legs are fine... I quite like the shoes also ha
I don't think she should wear short shorts though or leggings with a BRA top but I don't think her body weight is an issue what so ever.
And she was not polished style wise in Overcome, some song outfits were.... but some of her outfits were also AWFUL...
are we forgetting that awful SWY underwear that she wore performance after performance...
Atleast we do have a bit of a variety this era....
I say this a lot but I don't like her legs, they have definitely gotten much bigger, obviously because of all the working out. I think if she is going to work out she needs to find a better trainer who can help her achieve a nice toned body, because at this rate she'll end up more like a body builder. Jodie Marsh anyone? I think her outfit looks great on those pics, and the shoes are okay, but it's funny that DM said they're bizarre as they praised Jessie J for similar shoes the other week. I didn't like her Lorraine outfit though. Again, it's the bra tops.. they need burning because she can't pull them off. She needs to put her stomach away.
Her legs are fine. The shoes are amazeeeee!!! Yeah a trainer to sort out target areas would be good but her legs are fine. I think she should work in her tum abit more.
I just watched Alex on X Factor/Xtra Factor.. I loved her as a judge and I think the public who don't follow the crowd would have aswell, she was 50/50 but 50/50 of the x factor audience is like 10 million so yano.
She looked stunning on each day... absolutely stunning & her criticism was the truth and everything which she said HAPPENED e.g Frankie not taking it serious, stripping Misha B down acoustically etc.

I agree. She actually spoke sense and no one listened to her.
Now if they only start doing the same for Alexandra.
I think we should all contact DS to do an article on Capital snubbing Alexandra.
Alexandra has been snubbed by them since January so already longer than 3 months....I think they just are never going to play her tbh....Syco must have struck a deal to get 1D played again...but of course, no such deal has been made for Alex...
I think it would be wise to get DS to publicise this snub though...it's ridiculous that one station has so much power

I can't really say too much on the matter since I've never lived in the UK, but why does it seem that so many British radio stations and then the BRIT Awards make biased, irrational, and emotionally charged decisions? Mostly snubbing and having some sort of vendetta against former X-Factor contestants. The list could go on, Leona's 'Collide' getting little airplay, this random refusal to play Alexandra's music when radio was supportive of her on her 1st album (right?). I don't understand it.
Unrelated, but I can't stop listening to the preview of 'Between the Sheets' . I've been waiting for a ballad (it is a ballad right? People said there was only going to be one ballad on the album, but there's this and 'What Money Can't Buy' right?) like this for such a long time. And to get it from Alexandra is a major plus. Ah I can't wait for the album, all of you in the UK are so lucky that you don't have to wait for it to get shipped halfway across the globe after the release .

And yeah Capital are just so petty and very much pretentious, it's very irritating. I don't think Alexandra will get dropped if this album fails sales-wise, taking everything into account she's actually doing a lot better than most of the ex x -factor contestants.

Hehehe! It's good innit? But yeah they really do. Also Alex has never made r&b, which I think is something they don't like. She does pop, and does it better than almost all her contemporaries, and I simply think they won't admit it, hence not playing her and wanting her to flop, which the extended airplay ban will do. Radio 1 never liked her, yet liked JLS and Cheryl so it's definitely personal. Bad Boys was a great lead single and they were all funny about it. In a way, she's not playing by their rules so to speak. Part of it is XF too, people keep going on about her being average...clearly they've not heard her sing. And in the UK there's a big OTT thing about people doing well and wanting them to flop, and then moaning there's no talent....when you effectively wish career death upon talent (ie Marcus Collins, Alex etc).
They want people to flop, so it proves a point that nothing good comes from XF, when it really does.
Capital are just being petty, but R1 are very politcal about it. The Brits...where do I start, I cannot believe Cheryl would get a nomination for best female artist and not Alex. Nothing against the lady, but it's the principle for me. They just ignore her, and I bet Alex would have to be X50 better than them all sales and live wise to get a look in, and even then she'd get ignored. I guess that bit is to do with her being phenomenal and black too. I never believed my mum when she always said I had to be beyond a doubt better than my white contemporaries, but the more I live, I see it everywhere. And Alex falls victim to it. Hence our desire for her to leave these shores. I wouldn't even mind if she never put out another single here. The world will appreciate her better. And it doesn't have the 'umpty' politics of the UK.

Thank you for the very detailed and informative reply. I learned a lot. It really is unfortunate and sad that there are so many people out there that try so hard to bring others down. Especially with the increasingly America-central global music market, the UK offers some of the best competition, but there seem to be a fair amount of people in the UK that would rather bring their own talent down.
And the racism is really sad too, I'm so sorry that you have also had to deal with it. I definitely had a feeling that this was the case, specifically for women, because there are tons of male black singers/rappers in the UK, but almost no black women. I remember Kelis, who I also really like, ranting about racism in the UK saying that so much stuff just gets buried under the rug, and I got that impression too. The US has no shortage of its own racism, but I think it's always more in the public eye as an issue.
All of this being said though, I still think Alex will be able to pull through with this album. And with plans to go to the US, I think a lot of great things will happen. I will do everything in my power to help out (already recommending her music to friends) .

This is a really great post. And I agree with your last paragraph. I think that Alex will have a lacklustre era in the UK but I think this year is the year she breaks into the international market and particularly the US one. She's a smart girl who has been building up some powerful contacts in the industry....even I was surprised when Diddy tweeted people to buy Elephant on iTunes....I think that once she goes to the US, she'll have a whole host of people come out in support of her, plus her Beyoncé connection...
Her mood on her recent #AskAlex session has left me very confident, I have a feeling she's clinched a pretty good US deal as she explicitly said that it was a secret and would be 'announced soon'....The fact that things will be 'announced' leads me to believe that there is something big bubbling under the surface here...I just hope it works out this time and she is successful in the US. I do think it was a wasted opportunity not releasing All Night Long in the US as a promo single...it was arguably her strongest song.
I think success in the US and Europe is the only way that UK media/industry will stop snubbing Alex...as others have said, it looks like she's going to have to work a lot harder and achieve a lot more to get the support that other acts in her category are just being handed. It seems unfair, but then Alex has never been one to sit around, she will work. I can only hope that she has a strong plan in place for the international market, because I think it's time for another UK female after Leona and Adele and (kinda Jessie J) to make it big on an international scale, and it should be Alexandra.

I agree with everything you said too I think she's got the best chance.
I mean alex is the only dark skinned female in the world getting top 5 hits, bar Janelle with We are Young (so glad she's got a joint #1, I'm a big fan, get into her solo stuff, her debut was incredible and critically acclaimed).alex can SANG (that voice is beyond singing ) she can dance (I personally think she's at Beyonce's level, but her team needs to fix up + change - Bey doesn't dance like her in the Elephant 2nd chorus breakdown (youtube her singing it @ GAY in london and watch closely you'll see what I mean) Alex is far rawer and beastlier) and can shift easily between pop, r&b, can sing on hip hop tracks, oozes soul and could even be on afrobeats tracks, she can do dance too.
The US needs her as the BBMAs proved. She'd have slayed there. The US needs another big performer. ATM there's only Gaga and Bey. Alex can complete the trinity lol!! I even thought alex couldve got a #1 in the US with bad boys and Broken heels. Radio wouldve taken to her, her music IMO was very different to Telephone, Bad Romance, Rude Boy etc. Such a shame simon didn't use her potential, she's the best we have as a new export along with Misha B.
Check alex out singing Saving all my love for you on YT, she's in a light blue top at the O2 in london. People say she has no chance (uk folk) but with a voice like that at the BBMAs or the Grammys or BET awards, you're gonna say they'll not buy her records? Vocals sell and Alex always delivers. Its a shame about the UK, but alex is the exception and stands out, hence the hate. But if she goes global, I'm sure the haters will lose power.
Guys I also think she has duets on a US version of HOH. HOH as we know it is too european, and alex did mention there may be collabs on future releases of it or other versions of HOH. She actually gave us a clue IMO. And her potential deal wouldn't have been announced till closer to her US launch date, to create hype. She's very private about her business, as we all know

That something big she said might be her US contract as it would stop her going to the US. It then makes sense as now everything is all go go when it was mere rumours before. She was probz sorting out her business.

I think she has other material for the US release that isn't on the UK/European version.....HOH seems almost too European, and considering she worked with a bunch of American producers, I wouldn't be surprised if she had other material saved up for a US version of HOH...
That snippet with Rico we heard on the Ustream sounded nothing like the style we've now heard for HOH....I think there are other things planned personally...:)
I cannot wait for full tracks either!!! One and a half weeks! I hope the Nov 7th date is the US album date. And europe is in early august/late july.
November 7th is far far too soon for any US album....If anything I would hope that it is a single release date for the US...she will have to tour/gig/run around radios first to gain momentum in the US like Cher Lloyd and 1D before she even considers an album release....
