Impressed with the cinematography so far and the casting is pretty much spot on, although I don't think Geoffrey Rush's depiction of Javert will be topped just yet.

Looking forward to seeing how well Samantha Barks does, this film could be the making of her, I liked her in I'd Do Anything but haven't seen her in anything since then so not sure how good of an actress she is. I've seen a few film blogs tip her for Oscar success too, given that she has one of the musical's biggest songs 'On My Own', using Jennifer Hudson as an example how having a massive number in a musical can help bag at least a nomination. Personally, I doubt it unless it's a slow year for Supporting Actresses, also I can she her being overshadowed by Anne Hathaway.

It does look rather good.
evening singing "Empty Chairs..." as part of my singing exam. love to see how Hugh Jackman does it Bet I was better :D
And Sasha Baron Cohen and Helen B Carter singing "Master of the House"
Hugh Jackman won't be singing Empty Chairs - Eddie Redmayne will be. Won't comment on whether you sang it better or not!
judging from his performance in birdsong i do wonder whether hes going to be able to pull it off
but that teaser really is spectacular
Cannot wait for this.
'suppose I could learn the story a little better :o
I still sang it better though :D
I'm not sure about that actually. She sang at the opening of the Oscars with Hugh Jackman and she wasn't awful. She's got a much stronger voice than you would think from hearing that clip. I think it is deliberately sung that way, but I love it. It represents exactly what the song is about in my opinion.
Completely agree, that's not about her limitations, it's about presenting the song in a completely different way for the film, I expect a few of the other songs will sound completely different too, I can't wait for this.
Oh, I hope so, that would be awesome and so different to other musical films!
I like the trailer, though a bit nonplussed by how much of the spotlight is on Hathaway... after all,
Anyone else think that this version of I Dreamed a Dream might differ to the one used in the actual film? Could be going for a slightly more stripped back approach to denote the overall tone of the film.
Either way... Looking forward to it! It won't beat the experience of seeing it live but I love the idea of being able to stick on a DVD of the production whenever I feel like it
Looking forward to more teasers - especially looking forward to hearing Hugh!
Anne Hathaway does sound good though I wish they had shown more of the other characters.
I'm looking forward to seeing further trailers featuring more of the cast.
Possibly. Totally agree it captures the feeling of the song perfectly.
The fact it is being released during awards season suggests that there are high hopes for the film in any case.
