The one I can watch again and again and still laugh is - Morecambe and Wise Andrew Preview/Grieg Piano Concerto sketch. Just perfection in writing and performance. Simply wonderful!
Ronnie Hazlehurst's Requiem from early Spitting image - but I've never seen it since.
Well Remembered!!
IIRC it went something like "Tonight on the South Bank show, we look at the unsung musical genius behind not only the bit of music at the beginning of The Two Ronnies, but more remarkable, the bit of music at the end of The Two Ronnies. Ronnie Hazelhurst..."
"Some people say my music's a bit like making love. It lasts about 45 seconds."
EDIT - Most of it's here, but it cuts off just as we get to his Requiem

I was just coming on to post this. Julie Walters is hilarious - that walk and head tremor.... If ever I hear anyone say "two soups" I still crack up even after all these years.
Hubby wasn't very well the other week, so was eating soups, and all I could think of was Julie Walters and 'two soups'. Like you, I was cracking up.

From memory, wasn't the Requiem played over the closing credits, rather being part of the original sketch?
Yes, I went hunting for it and noticed it cut off at the essential bit.
It was definitely played at least twice, as the fact it was so short that you could quickly hear it again was part of the joke.
It actually used the text for the Magnificat, so it wasn't a Requiem at all really.
