Music, maybe a little tweak for a bit more oomph.
I prefered the way the closing theme was used during Series 4.
It made the endings so much more dramatic.
and I don't like the fact the 'STING' is omitted from the end of episodes and only heard in 'Next Time' trailers.
It's a shame but that's how it is! But long may this theme and titles remain!
The series 5+ titles are growing on me but they're not great. You are quite correct that series 4 had the best
Still it would be nice to hear any of the theme without the bbc anouncer speaking over it.
The 11th Doctor's titles and music don't give me that feeling and I think the music is particularly a lightweight version. I would rather see both replaced asap!
However, I am willing to concede that may be what the time vortex *actually* looks like, having never seen it myself.
Just my personal opinion though.
I agree, the current theme is weird. And as some one said a few years ago, the title sequence looks like a trip down someone's colon. They should update them for the 50th Anniversary, preferably not using Murray Gold - he's getting a bit stale.
In reality, it'll probably get remixed the next time Murray Gold has a soundtrack out, so in a year or two then I guess?
If Murray Gold ever wanted to 'refresh' the theme, I'd be thrilled if he made the bass line more pronounced. Something akin to this but not as dominating.
Also, give the continuity announcers gags! Or tape the microphone button so much that it takes them 30 seconds to remove it and they'd have to yell "dah, um um, Graham NORTON!!!" during the closing seconds. It would be this generation's 'sonic boom' ending
I agree. I find them a bit tacky. They could be so much better. In fact I've seen better student work.
I doubt they'll change too much though, at least until the next regeneration, due to the merchandise rebranding costs.
This is a nice page of Who titles -

.......:(
For what it's worth, I love them
As with every other aspect, it's only the ones that object that make noise. Those who are content don't rouse themselves.
I like the theme and visuals, don't have a problem with them at all.
