Love this quote from BBC re Mesut Ozil
Can't see past a Germany win. Pirlo won't have the same influence on the German midfield the way he did against Gerrard and Co.

Love this quote from BBC re Mesut Ozil
Real Madrid midfielder Ozil set up two of Germany's four goals in the quarter-final win over Greece and is hopeful he can have a similar impact on Thursday.
"I was immensely happy to have shown what I can do at last," he said. "I will demonstrate in the game against Italy that I can put my foot on the pedal."

The only certainty so far is that Schweinsteiger will play. There has been a bit of a discussion about that recently...
Pirlo had just as much influence against the so called 'greatest midfield in the world' in Spain. I'm not sure why some continue to underrate Italy, it's like some people have been living under a rock and don't know anything about this side.
I'd expect it'll be an interesting midfield battle, which could be awesome with the amount of talent in the likes of Bastian, Pirlo, De Rossi etc. Ultimately I can see it coming down to the Italy strike force though, who haven't been on the greatest of form so far. If a mixture of Balotelli, Cassano and Di Natale can find their top form tonight, I'd fancy them for this one without a doubt.
Expecting a closer game than some think and Chiellini being fit is a massive boost for the defence of Italy. Germany have apparently won 15 straight games in competitive matches, while they've never beaten Italy in the European Championship or World Cup, not that any of that matters.
Should be a right cracker. Got Italy to win it, though whoever wins I feel will win the entire thing.
I know he did but have a feeling the German's midfield (knowing he was a big influence against Spain and England) will keep close to him similar to the way Iniesta generally had a player tracking him last night against Portugal.
Won't mind being proved wrong by Italy winning but just can't see it - doesn't mean I'm underrating Italy for feeling this way.
By saying that aren't you underrating Spain?
No, because Spain are anything but underrated. Italy on the other hand have been underrated from start to finish throughout this tournament, big difference. (Though nothing new there I guess)
Fair dues on the other parts mate, could swing either way.
its ebcause the media have them believe "italian football is boring and defensive for last 20 years"
italy are a good team and have a good chance of winning the euros.
Neuer - Lahm - Hummels - Badstuber - Boateng - Podolski - Schweinsteiger - Khedira- Özil - Kroos - Gomez.
Kroos playing (instead of Reus and Müller) is a surprise.
Have we seen much of that of late?
No we haven't but once a team starts winning all the time, they are automatically accused of arrogance.
Even hugged him .. Striker vs defender .... Naive Boateng
You are just saying that to make the Fish and Chips loss look less embarrassing.
EDIT: Just Ingham's stopwatch...
Wonderful.
Good match thus far.
