Sad news. He was a wonderful character actor. I know him mostly from Keeping up Appearances and The Royle Family and wasn't he also in Skins? But I know he had a long and varied career going back decades before that.
I remember first seeing him as the binman, Eddie Yeats in Corrie and thought he was a masterclass as Onslow. Very sad to read this. R.I.P., Geoffrey. A genuine loss to the acting profession.
My favourite comment of Onlow's in KUP was when he told Daisy he might not have married her after she confessed she was a Liverpool supporter on their wedding night.
He was also the voice of Paul McCartney in Yellow Submarine.
Now I didn't know that. He made Eddie Yeats an excellent character and Twiggy in RF too. He also appeared in the first generation of Skins with Bill Bailey. Truly funny actor. I read a while back that he was very ill. I wish his family well and send condolences. RIP
RIP Geoffrey a fantastic actor especially as Onslow in Keeping up Appearances. It is a great legacy to the man that he is known for so many different roles, not many actors or actress can lay claim to that as often they become typecast. Sad Loss RIP.
