Someone just tweeted "Ex-UK ambassador to Uzbekistan @CraigMurrayOrg just named one of Assange's accusers on the BBC, said it's OK: he's married to a rape victim".

George 'can I be the cat' Galloway: men don't need to ask permission 'for all insertions'. Apparently, it's OK for men to 'insert' into a woman while she's asleep, because she's got into bed and 'is already in the sex game'. Nice guy, is George................

found this australian article.. scroll down to this bit beginning..

    http://www.crikey.com.au/2010/12/09/rundle-r-pe-case-complainant-has-left-sweden-may-have-ceased-co-operating/

''Even if the case comes to trial, the prospects of conviction look slim. Crikey asked Flinders University sex crime law expert Dr Mary Heath to go over the charges (which may still be accusations at this stage) as they were relayed in Assange’s extradition bail hearing, and she made the following comments:''

And got severely told off by the interviewer and other the other guest. A nasty self righteous individual.

Using Galloway's logic if Assange were to be taken to America while he was sleeping it wouldn't be extradition, just bad manners.

I trust that the many constituents of Bradford West who voted for Mr Galloway are now extremely proud of their MP.

    An odious man.

I doubt that he will retain this seat at the next election.

That's one of the silliest postings I have seen in some time.

I can't stand Galloway, but he is right on this point.

Just imagine, you are in bed with a lady with whom you have had sex earlier that night. You have the urge for more sex so rather than giving her perhaps a kiss and a cuddle and then proceeding with the act, assuming she doesn't object, you make sure she is fully awake and you ask "Do you agree to full consensual sexual intercourse under the terms of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 ?" to make doubly sure that you are not in danger of facing legal charges you get her to sign a piece of paper expressing her consent in writing.

Err no, you just don't have sex with someone that is asleep just because you got your jollies earlier. That in my book is rape.

Now, I don't know what went on between Assange and his accusers and so won't make a judgment on his guilt and think the actions of the UK are reprehensible but Galloway is a dick of the highest order. I was dismayed when he was elected in Bradford whilst fellow socialists were cheering purely because a socialist had won a seat in Parliament. Personally I think Galloway is a self serving ego maniac and not someone that I as a socialist would want to be associated with. The sooner he is told to sod off by those he seeks to align himself with the better.

    lol

The next time I have a one-nighter with a woman I'm gonna make sure she reads a 30 page document I have prepared and signed it on the back in duplicate, for consent. When people talk about "safe sex", it's gone from waering a johnny to now signing disclaimers and ensuring the other party has read and understood the SOA 2004. :D

Even receiving blowjobs behind the nightclub from a drunk female reveller are going to have to come (pardon the pun) with a signed waiver. :p

Condom machines will now also sell consent forms in a foil wrap. :D

    Well said TysonStorm.
All this nonsense can do nothing but harm to the genuine victims of rape, which is a horrendous crime.

In that case I've been raped, multiple times by women. *rubs hands* gonna make a fortune out of this.

What's the time limit on it?

If you're in a relationship and have previously had sex a few days earlier, can one party just decide they want sex and it not be rape?

I wonder how she could possibly prove that she was sleeping at the time ?

How does someone sleep through sex?

Now she must have been insanely drunk (I've been an a drunken state before while a woman tried to have "non consensual" sex with me and I never remembered a thing until she told me :o) or he has a very small chuckie. :p

Now I can understand it if she was out of her head on alcohol and drugs, however I would suspect she would have to prove that at the time she was out of it.

Wake up sex is great. I would be happy with anyone who I slept with to initiate wake up sex with me and I would hope they would expect the same. If I wake up however and say stop then I would expect them to stop. So in that respect (no pun intended) I agree with Galloway.

Having said that, Galloway is an odious toad.

I feel grateful that all those Swedish girls I related to in Ibiza forty years ago probably can't remember my name and certainly not where I live!

..and the Beatles sang "I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me....." (Norwegian Wood)

Yeah, if only there was only some legal process where Assange could go to Sweden and face them... ;)

It's quite hilarious that a lot of us (myself included) are agreeing with Galloway and then ending our posts in similar fashion to yours :D
