Its obvious Syed wants more than Christian and isn't 100% committed to him so would it be better if they left separately?

I do think they should get away from Syed's parents and the suffocating environment of Walford and I predict this is what will happen. Syed has been almost imprisoned by Christian and his parents for the last 3 years and it would do him good - and in turn, Christian and their relationship good - to have a change of scenery.
Based on the last three years, yes
I loathed Friday episodes for many reasons and I'm at that stage now where I would not be bothered with them going thier seperarte ways.
At the same time, I don't count the last months as canon either, so a happy ending is fitting to 'real' Chryed, not this current farce.
That's like Kat fans saying everything is hunky dory with her and Alfie because in "their" canon Kat's affair hasn't happened.
That's because I don't believe it.
Stories have to make sense and I'd rather take 3 years of believability over 3 months of being nonsensical.
I can quite easily dismiss the last three months as a gobshite retcon.
I don't think what Syed has done is out of character at all he has got form for lying and deceit after all. The argument against seems to rest on the fact he appeared genuine on his wedding day but if you look at those episodes there were hints that more had happened with him and Danny.
On the morning of the wedding Syed almost confessed, there was also Christian's line about him coming home late and leaving early, which I took to mean that Syed had stayed out all night but Christian wasn't aware of this.
There could've been some truth in it being a cruel trick and nonsensical if it weren't for the hints we had about more having happened which are now conveniently ignored so people can write off the entire storyline in their canon. And let's be honest they were blatant hints and only ignored because Chryed fans didn't want to believe it not because the hints weren't strong enough.
It's all about a plot twist that's all it is and it's a classic example of characters being written around the stories, rather than stories being written for the characters.
Syed has also told Christian that he's loved him countless times over the years, on his stag do, on Thursdays episode twice and all of a sudden he's unsure? It's one big plot-driven, plot twist, taking away any factor of believability or consistency. I can buy there has been subtle hints, I can and I saw them but like I said hints which were MUCH more stronger than any subtle hint and when you take that into context with all thier other scenes, it's one big nonsensical farce. You had Syed express on his wedding day that nothing happened, which wasn't a hint but vocalisation from the horses mouth. There's also another thread on the main forum asking where Syed's uncertainty has sprung from so it's not just the fans who have recognised how poorly constructed this storyline has been. The characterisation has been terrible and it makes no sense when you take into consideration his development and growth over the last three years. I have the same problem believing Syed for the same reason I have believing Kat. It’s regression and not consistent to the characters they once were, whom both had come such a long way.
Like I said in other threads though, I'll be relieved on the 15th when Christian and Syed are out of Walford, whether that's together, apart of even in death.
Katrina, this storyline - as boring as it is - is not all plot driven. For a start, Syed hasn't really had any development in the last couple of years or so - if anything, that's the main criticism of his character and of Bryan Kirkwood's treatment of Chyred in general. While Christian had some effort of characterisation put in to him pre-Chyred, being introduced as Jane's brother, a lot of Syed's intial development under Santer were centred on the insecurties he felt regarding his sexuality, and of course his shady past. When the dust settled, and Chyred settled into stability, Syed's character remained pretty much a blank canvas. Syed may have told Christian he loved him but these are just words. Kat tells Alfie, she loves him as well and that contradicts with all the things she does. The difference between Kat and Syed, is that Syed didn't have even half the individual characterisation Kat had pre-Alfie.
Not really sure I buy that Syed is a bad liar. After all it wasn't just Amira he managed to fool for a year it was his family as well and he has also fooled his family when it comes to stealing from them. Zainab is good at sussing people out yet he has had her fooled more than once.
Only Masood has the ability to suss Syed out and that's because he is naturally suspicious of him anyway and isn't blind to his faults like Zainab often is.
I just find it all too hard to swallow.
I wish I could buy into this but I can't. How he's fleeced his family, I can buy, even if he doesn't come across altogether likable, I can accept that he is a shaddy character, a liar. However the current Danny plot has been choppy and inconsistent from start to finish with a silly twist after the last one.
Syed might 'grow up' away from his parents, yes?
I don't think either of them will ever find the kind of love that they have together again. They've tried so many times before to move on from each other but it never works. Obviously their relationship has issues but what relationship doesn't? They just need to work on these issues and their relationship will be stronger for it.
Besides, I really want Christian to get his happy ending, to get the family unit he's always longed for
Even when Zainab and Masood left them alone they were miserable. Zainab had nothing to do with Syed's back and forth over whether he should adopt with Christian and Christian making it clear to Syed that having a child is more important than their relationship.
Actually, they were genuinely happy for about a year after they got together properly, it was only when Syed started to reconnect with Zainab that their issues really began. Sure, they had the odd argument here and there, like every other couple, but their major problems only really started then.
Although the problem with Chryed is that a lot of their dramas are contrived because they are such a genuinely happy couple. So a lot of the time, TPTB have had to come up with plot-driven stories that aren't necessarily true to their characters, just to give them some drama. IMO.
I don't know if that will happen, but I'm finding myself thinking the most positive ending for both their characters would be to go their separate ways.
Love it!
That can be said for most characters though
Syed needs to discover who he is and he won't be able to do that around his family or Christian. Syed has to be left alone to be able to serenely do this necessary and difficult journey. He needs to grow up, wise up and man up or he'll forever be the same pathetic lying, cheating, selfish, weasel, weak pathetic excuse for a man.
Amira really got the lucky escape. It seems to me the loser won Syed. Regardless of his sexuality, Syed is a mess and realistically it would take a long long time for him to work through all his issues. The first step would be for Syed to realise that he's the problem, a bit like an alcoholic needs to realise he has a problem in order to start the recovery and healing process.
Finally the one who suffered the most is also the one who grew the most. I am very happy that Amira is coming back happy, holding her head high, having moved on and Christian and Syed can no longer affect or hurt her. She's only coming back to take her daughter where she belongs, with her mommy.
Edit - Now page 2 has gone. I'm confused.com.
