It won't perform well OP. I quite like it but I wouldn't say it was the strongest track. It's the 4th single from an album that was released in late March, and the last single ('Turn Up The Radio') peaked in the UK Charts at #175. I can't see 'Superstar' bucking the trend of the majority of singles peaking well outside of the Top 40.
I thought MDNA was a pretty strong album - much better than "Hard Candy" (although I wouldn't say it's a bad album, just one of my least-played Madonna efforts).
I wouldn't have personally chosen "Give Me All Your Love" as the debut. Agree with 'Gang Bang' - that would be a great single, or 'I'm Addicted' - you'd get some fabulous remixes from that. I'd just like to see Madonna stop trying to work with this mass array of "hot right now" producers. She should just stick to working with William Orbit - they did some fantastic stuff, and the songs he produced on MDNA are (in my humble opinion) the best.
I'm not sure where you have heard this because there's no confirmation on the official Madonna site or any reputable fansites, maybe it's a rumour you picked up on? I don't think for a minute she will release anymore singles because they will flop without a trace if she can't promote them and radio wont play them
I do love the song, Madonna's daughter sings at the beginning of the track.
I don't think the song will do anything because most of Madonna's fans will already own the album, I don't see people who have the album downloading the song again that would be a waste of money.
She should have released either "I'm Addicted", "Gang Bang" or "Love Spent".
Don't get me wrong, I do like it, but Madonna's fans consider "Superstar" one of the worst songs on the album. Definitely the wrong choice as far as i'm concerned.
I think it started as a rumour from when Suprstar was the soundtrack to Bravos Summer (and now) Fall programmes and it got strong downloads from MDNA due to that....but her final release for the album is Turn Up The Radio.
Superstar as a song i feel tries to allude back to Cherish and True Blue....it is a nice pop song that can be played in the summer...but its very "safe" and a bit nonsensical...but hey i like it but as a single...nah and it wont be.
I feel she should save her energy and singles for the next album campaign when she is ready....really game change again i feel
The only thing left of MDNA now is the tour. Once that's over the era will be finished entirely and I don't think she will do a second leg either:( Hopefully she will start on new music by the end of 2013
I do reckon she has come through this 5 year transitional period (like when she did with Bedtime Stories/Remember/Evita) now its (hard Candy, W.E, Sticky & Sweet, MDNA, W.E and MDNA Tour) and i sense this full circle feel behind it....
and agreed TH i reckon she will start work on it sooner as she is so inspired take time in 2013

She will take a while out to spend time with the family and although she may be inspired that could be to do other projects such as the truth or dare brand or movies
Superstar sucks, one of the worst on the album. But Gang Bang wouldn't do well, either, as it's too explicit and not commercial enough. It's one of my favorites on the album, though. If I had to choose, I'd go with I'm Addicted or Beautiful Killer.
She picked the worst MDNA tracks for singles, shame.
I agree - is she trying to commit career suicide?! - What happened to every lead single (and many 2nd and 3rd singles) being, quite frankly - brilliant?!

Had she released Love Spent, Beautiful Killer, I'm Addicted instead it would be a different story completely. Who decided which singles to release needs sacking
When you look back at Madonna's career you will realize that people have ridicule Madonna, know matter what people say about Madonna she will always come back better and better simply because she's MADONNA. At the end of the day Madonna must be doing something right she has had a 30 year career in music.
Superstar - would have been a US hit due to the fact that its very US radio friendly and was already picking up tv and radio play when the album was released.
I`m Addicted - was said to be the only track Radio 1 said that the would A-List ...
Masterpiece - should have been released in January ...Radio 2 A-Listed it too.
It is so odd that these singles were not officially released. Gang Bang would not gather raido play and should remain a fan album fave. Give Me Your Luvin was right to be released in USA for the Superbowl. That was about the only correct decision made. GGW was a great album track but too Confesisons sounding for a lead album single.
US
1. Give Me Your Luvin (Jan release)
2. Superstar (March release)
3. Masterpeice
4. I`m Addicted (in time with tour)
UK, Europe & Aus
1. Masterpiece (Jan release)
2. Love Spent/Beautiful Killer (album pre release - March)
3. I`m Addicted (in line with tour)
4. Superstar

alternatively..."she must be doing something wrong as she's had four flop singles in a row in her most successful market, the UK"
