After reading a recent book featuring the Suzy Lamplugh case, it got me thinking is this a case that may never be solved. Especially due to the time that has passed since she went missing.
Other cases i think of include Gennette Tate in 1978 and Claudia Lawrence, the agony their families must feel.

Madeleine McCann and Ben Needham immediately spring to mind.
I can't see either of them being found, sadly.
Oh no you di'int!
The thread was going so well too.
Possibly connected with Suzy Lamplugh and the like?
Could be, who knows? Perhaps he, she or they have been active for a couple of decades and they're just damn good at their 'job'.
I am convinced Robert Black is responsible for Genette Tate's murder, if he is responsible I wish he would tell her parents where her body is He is currently serving a life sentence for the murders of four other little girls
The Moira Anderson disappearance in 1957 has apparently recently been re-opened by cold case investigators, Sandra Brown wrote a very persuasive book (Where there is Evil) accusing her father, Alexander Gartshore, of being responsible for Moira's death, he was driving the bus that Moira was seen boarding and is recorded as being the last person to see her alive, although Moira's body has not been found there are suggestions that she may be buried in the grave of a friend of Gartshore's bizarrely the case has only been recently been deemed to be a murder enquiry rather than a missing persons enquiry despite the fact that she was only 11 when she disappeared whilst on an errand for her mum
I've not been on here all that long, but would I be right in assuming that discussions on that subject have been somewhat frequent and lengthy in the past, with mention of two dogs, some inconclusive DNA results and sentences containing he words "children", "apartment" and "alone"?

I suppose. Out of the tens of millions of people in this country, I imagine that there are a fair few who've committed murder or murders but have never been suspected, let alone investigated.
Could be a housewife, a vicar, anything; Harold Shipman demonstrated that it's possible.
I'm beginning to think that poor little April won't be found.
Well, certainly not as a result of the official searches anyway.
Another one is Martin Allen who vanished from London Underground in 1979 and the murder of Billie Jo Jenkins at her home in 1997.
It's horrible to think she may never be found
I hope she is for the sake of her parents - not being able to say goodbye & living in limbo must be horrible
I always knew it wasn't Barry George who killed her. A bit of an oddball, yes, but that doesn't make him a murderer. I hope his claim for compensation is successful.
It was thought that the bodies may be in a nearby quarry however when it was excavated nothing was found. The A9 was being upgraded at the time and it is now thought locally that they may be buried beneath it
I thought that someone was in prison for Billie - Jo's murder?
No, not quite!

Who is this about.
