I was made to keep my mouth open for about 15 minutes the other day without a single break to shut it, I thought my jaw muscles were going to split in half. Agony
Not to mention the cold air they blow into your pre filled filling and the drill that hits exposed nerves at every given chance.
Nightmare.

Horrible people dentists
Excuse my stupidity, but what's that?:o Is it the injection?
Went through years of hell with dentists, when I had to pay I was guided to sedation
PS apols about the flying suit comment
Wonder if the BDA approve of this pain relief technique... Not sure it's something I want to try with my middle-aged, balding dentist
Yeah. The lidocaine itself I welcome, the big honking needle in my gums, not so much.
Oh yes! I'm terrified of dentists, it's the only thing I'm afraid of. I was overjoyed when I found a Dental Anaesthetic Clinic in Swindon. Costs me an absolute fortune as it's private, but it is worth every penny.
My dentist is a fat old bloke but the hygienist bore a striking resemblance to Scarlett Johansson. At my last checkup I was devastated to find out she had left and turned up for my next hygienist appointment with a sense of foreboding but I needn't have worried as she's been replaced with a Christina Hendricks lookalike.
Me too... it was awesome! But sadly, they don't seem to do it anymore.. probably too many regulations around it when they can just inject anesthetic
Yes you can Wonder.
I went for years and endured jumping out of the chair and crass treatment due to fear but if you fear too much you can opt for sedation, something I was never told.
You can also have injections that don't have adrenalin in too, if you are highly strung it adds to your level and you get even more worked up.
Agree what you say Addison but people need to know the right information and the alternatives for people who are anxious.
I had to have a mould done a few months ago. It took three attempts, I think, as the first time I actually vomited.
I cried laughing the other night......off topic sorry
Wish I'd been sedated during root canal work
Outa interest, I assume its more costly if you opt for sedation...?
Why are they not told Addison? I think most people are not aware of the alternatives more than the fearful factors
I will always be fearful  but love the sleep aspect
Wow... root canal was pricey enough on the NHS... I'd probably need to remortgage the house for it to be done privately... so much for that idea
