  Don't know, but I've had a sim-free wifi+cellular on order since the week they went on pre-sale and it's only just changed to preparing for shipment now. If Apple have so little stock of their own, they'll most likely keep them back from the networks for a while longer.

  I never understand why people buy these things on contract. They cost more than a phone contract in most cases. Works out better sim free with a mbb sim/tethered to a phone.
