If I were the BBC, I would be asking Buena Vista why they are allowing ITV to show a new Disney Premiere when they had already paid the multi-million pound fee to secure the rights to New premieres! Baffling why ITV have a Disney premiere when they don't have the rights!

Digiguide may be wrong of course as these are provisional listings but they usually get the channels right !

Do BBC only have rights to Disney Pixar movies as Tangled was just Disney?

As far as I'm aware, they signed a 10 year deal in 2004 to allow them exclusive terrestrial premiere rights to all New Disney studio movies including Touchstone, Miramax (although no longer relevant as it is no longer owned by Disney), and Disney/Pixar.

Indeed, this is evident in BBC1's major premieres this year being:

    A Christmas Carol
    Alice In Wonderland
    The Princess and the Frog
    Prince of Persia
    Up.

And of course they have rights to Dreamworks films too.

I've just seen the Sky Movies advert and it showed clips from 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' and 'Jingle All the Way'. I suppose that means they won't be shown on terrestrial TV this year, shame. :(

My theory is that it takes so long to put up the tree and decorations that you might as well have them up for the full five weeks of December and Christmas.

I agree, far too early, probably put ours up about the 14/15th. Although we have received our first Christmas card!

No On Sale Dates have been sent to me and I am a subscriber, however the first one will be out on Saturday 01 December - this coming Saturday, as it was stated at the very back of this week's issue,
not sure about the others though

I will Post on here as soon as I get the magazines

I'm with Pedrock Weekend of the 15th is plenty early enough. And surely for the 'true' Christmas lovers amongst, of which there appear to be many, surely a real tree is essential.

Any real tree put up on 01st dec will have lost it's spring and fragrence (and if it's a cheap pine -it's needles) by Christmas.

So i am a little confused as to why any Christmas lover would be putting a tree up now

That's ITV for you. A wide variety of programming is not their thing.

You can stick your sweeping generalisations up your arse mate, I love christmas and me and my family are putting our tree up this weekend so stick that in your cobb pipe and smoke it:p

I hope your real tree drops its needles early:)

Real trees are too much hassle. For me, the Christmas tree is all about the lights and decorations rather than the tree itself. if there's green still showing, it's not finished ;)
