good hour to go on the download still..
software??
2 of my 3 games are sealed, dont really want to open them
nintendoland and tekken, do they require updates also?
i quite surprised its taking an hour ... i dont remember the 2nd update being anywhere near as big as the 1st initial download.
ive done it, re boxed it and wrapped it
that would have been a major nightmare xmas morning
added everybody anyway
Can i ask what broadband you use and what your normal speeds are like? i've heard online the updates can take from as long as a few hours to as little as 20 minutes and i'd like to get an idea how long it could take for me so i can watch a movie or something instead of just watching a bar fill up
sky unlimited, i live in the sticks, well 6 miles from the exchange and it takes a while to download things.
if you cant open till your birthday, be prepared for a good two hours to download and then maybe 30 minutes to install it
dont forget to go into the settings and disable the power off, even though it says it will be disabled when you start the update (paranoia) and then you can set your NN id up
it would not be great if my first experience on the WiiU is 'let's stick the PS3 on and play some fifa instead while it downloads'
In all honesty, I'd update everything well before Christmas day ..if only to make sure everything is working as it should.
If you're charging the controller, downloading the firmware updates and games updates, transferring /creating Mii's..and setting up your ID etc..you'll probably waiting 5 hrs before everything is done.
drat
ive never been so nervous doing an update in case there is a power cut
i think Nintendo need some pointers from Microsoft on this side of things
You can charge the Pad while it updates can't you? i thought you could plug the charger directly into the gamepad and keep playing
I'd say they should take lessons from Sony personally, nothing like being on Plus and the next time you turn the PS3 on it tells you which games have been updated, so no more turning on a game and having to wait 5,10,20+ minutes while to does the latest patch
Guess i'll have to get used to these annoying updates again though
add me when you get it all set up, ive sent req to people but unsure how to send a message with it
