I thought it was good, decent at least. It may not have been as strong as "Fallen" or "Slow Burn" but I am certain the episodes will get better, give it a bit of time. It was quite enjoyable.
OK, so here's my review for the whole episode(s): OK, it started out so well, Mike going on holiday, and an explosion at the beginning, Gina getting hit, going to hospital, things I expected from the sneek peek. (I can't believe they cut out the bit ")Ooh. Who made you the new Gina?" Went better, Gus's voice (so different and he's grown!!!) Gus was being extremely dangerous when he took the pin out of the grenade...
About Lydia Dillon, I could have actually liked her... she was here for such a brief moment, I want to see her return, she should have stayed! She reminded me of Constance Carlton from The Story of Tracy Beaker.
It got interesting also when they were Home Alone, and the henna plan to soak Faith in it, but instead, it hit Gus... oh well. Seemed so different without Tracy, although she was mentioned twice (or maybe three times?), as was Sapphire (Faith said talked about her!)
About the money, the children were being selfish, especially Frank and Tyler when they gambled it all away. and Elektra, being so ignorant, she didn't even know the whole situation and tried to get to Australia.
I liked the sibling relationship between Johnny and Tee, good to see that they didn't have any arguments and they stuck up for each other... and Tee had a good plan when they got locked away.
Faith, seems a potential leader... Maybe the new Tracy Beaker, in fact, that would be great wouldn't it? And the minute Gina comes back, everything goes back to normal.
The funniest line definitely has to be "You got mugged!" that was so funny. Also "20p" he is so broke!! "Yeah, well, I'd rather eat Johnny's sick."
Johnny shouldn't have got robbed, that was quite mean of them. Gus didn't make much of an appearance in the second episode, tough, since he was so into it in the first episode, though he almost got them killed. Maybe Leanne would make a great care worker.
Overall, I think that it could have ended so much better than this. It is so different without Tracy and what happened to Melanie? She was meant to be Tracy's replacement but she did not make an appearance at all! That's what I didn't like.
I would like to see more of the new characters come in soon, and to see Lily's episode next week would be great.
I quite enjoyed that. I can see the snobs of the forum are coming out to play.
I'm not a snob
I grew up with Tracy Beaker, watched Tracy Beaker returns as my guilty pleasure, and having watched every episode of all of it, I think saying it's terrible is an opinion I have the right to hold. Thanks.
Unfortunately, the writing nor the storylines are as well done as they were previously, and particularly with barely any glue, there was no past references to remind an audience that this is still the Dumping Ground.

Is this the last series as they are demolishing the building where its currently filmed as part of a controversial residential development
BIB - I hope not! It would be a shame! I didn't know they were demolishing the building.
Exactly what I was thinking. Wasn't she supposed to be Tracy's replacement? Seems she left early.

Think part of the 'Dumping Ground' will survive, but only as someone's house.
It's prime land in a very very wealthy Newcastle suburb so guess it was inevitable after the old school closed down.
I don't think Toby took the hamster when he got fostered.
YES AND IT'S SO COOL
Give it time. It could get better as the episodes pass.

I was just talking about the first two episodes. I can't believe they cut out "Ooh. Who made you the new Gina?"
