Definitely "too much" of this Johnny Mathis & Deniece Williams duet is being played for my liking.

These kind of tracks are better to listen to and not watch the forced body language between the two singers.

Aah, What A Waste, I just bought this song a few weeks ago.

After the brilliant Ian Dury we have 10cc last massive hit which is about as politically correct as Mrs Brown's Boys.

my God we were blessed to be young in a time with such brilliant music. It's probably for the best TOTP has gone cos they'd not be able to match this if we had to fill an hour of great stuff from the charts of a recent year.

Elvis' live performance here undermines the urban myths about the show being all miming that was said again earlier tonight. Agreed thatmost did mime but it was possible to perform live if you insisted.

I could be wrong but I thought he was miming

And coincidentally, in another week or two, another great mainly early 70s group, Sweet, have their swan song, Love Is Like Oxygen.

Bliss! One of two utterly brilliant pieces of top three hit music making from Rose Royce in 1978, or as I called them at the time Rolls Royce, like a few other kids no doubt. Just class.

I feel sorry for kids these days. Artists like Rihanna would give their right arm for a song as classy as this.

I've got both versions. The Jimmy Nail version is actually rather good in a different way. Give it another listen, you may be surprised.

Those little electric drums that did that noise were a hall mark of 78/79.

It was the syn-drums (they werecalled at the time) that caught everyone's attention.
