Does anyone on here keep these or know anything about them? A lady in my work saw them for sale in Dobbies and says they look amazing and I'm quite tempted to get some but don't want them dying on me after a couple of days!
Any information would be much appreciated.

I'm assume you're taking about clawed frogs, an aquatic species?
Yes, I think they live underwater all the time.
They need a heated aquarium with filter etc.
They also have quite a long lifespan 10-15 years +.
Thanks for that. We have cold water fish at the moment but have kept tropical fish in the past. The lifespan is much longer than I would have thought and that's quite a commitment! Will have a good think about it.
An easy way to tell them apart is that their fingers on their front legs are webbed, and they are never available as albino. They are slightly more difficult to keep than X. Laevis though, as they are tropical, and a little bit delicate. X. laevis can be kept at cooler temperatures, around 20c, though they even live in the wild in South Wales, so probably can be kept much cooler. H. boettgeri needs higher temps, around 26c. Those ones can be kept with small fish, but may need to be target fed, as they are slow to eat, and would lose out due to competition for food. The albino's, X. laevis, as already posted, will eat or harass surprisingly large fish to their body size.
They (both species) also need a fully covered aquarium, they are great at escaping, and won't live that long out of the water.
