Big new Trevor MacDonald documentary starting tonight about death row, which has been promoted all over Itv, This Morning and radio. Will be interesting to see if the former News at Ten host's show gets 4million viewers which is the number of viewers his Caribbean show got a couple summers ago.

What? A Big New Documentary. No way will it get 4m. Last documentry he did got 2-3m.
If it gets 3.0m then its done very well in a hard slot.
you can claim either sides victory depending upon how you interpret the figures but looking better or worse for itv and also bbc depening upon how you look at it - balanced view looks at programmes bearing in mind in it to win it inflates bbc1 share after splash has rated highly for itv so as already said make of it what you will and the stats can back up you up baed upon interpretations and reasons behind those interpretations.

Worry no longer. 4.47m excl +1; 4.9m with +1 incl.
ITV have to move away from their current schedule of having blocks of soaps occupying prime time. Tonight is a classic example where nearly two hours is put aside for emmerdale and coronation street.

i can think of 9 million reasons that would be a silly idea.

very good performance considering that the non plus 1 showing was up against a strong silent witness also remember that this is repeated on wednesday as well so some will watch then as well and then of ocurse theres itv stv and utv players online to gthink about as well could add more viewers

Ha ha, he only said this, bigging it up as a 'big new documentary' as a way to create a ratings crisis.
And then the doc ended up beating his expectation by almost a million viewers
Ratings confirm Trevor MaCdonald did indeed get 4million I predicted [rounded to the nearest million]
It is this kind of programme that itv should be making more of and showing them before the news at ten. Pleased that It had good ratings. itv may make more of these kind of programmes
More "big new" stuff on ITV1 last night. You've got to admire their ambition if this is the case because it seems everything is "big, new and heavily promoted" these days.
The rating for Trevor MacDonald cant be faulted. He used to be a very popular newsreader with the core Itv demographic and since his departure from the news, the NaT ratings have plumetted. Hes obviously a popular bloke with the Itv audiences.
Now moving onto more important matters, if Great night out and Splash rate better than normal in the next couple days, the snow will be a big reason for that. Lots more people watching at home will boost ratings for Itv shows. We have to look at the shares more, this will give us better indication of ratings success or ratings crises.

a 73 year old winning the under 45 demos So you admit they are the core ITV demographics?

I don't think people watch the news just for the presenter.
Oh and Splash has done well the last two weeks without snow involved, but are you saying if it does well this week its only because people all round the country are stuck inside and for some reason their TVs are stuck on ITV?
Stop making excuse after excuse when an ITV show does well, yes some of their shows don't do well in the slightest, but others do very well, but you always try to find some silly excuse as to why. Its never ever because people actually want to watch the programme, or that its a good quality programme or entertaining programme, oh noooo, its because it had a good lead in or poor competition or people fall asleep with ITV left on or the dog has bitten all the buttons of the remote except for the 3

You really are the Number 1 troll on here aren't you. What do you mean more important matters. If the Trevor McDonaled program had got a low rating you would have said thats not good for a big new show. Now your saying its not as important lol

I didnt say if Splash does well this week it is "only because" of the snow. What I said is if Splash rates better than normal, one of the reasons of why that might happen is because of the snow. Therefore it is even more important than usual to look at the share this week and see if it is better or worse than the 22-23pct its been getting the last two episodes.

I never made an excuse for Trevor MacDonalds show rating well yesterday. Nor did I make an excuse for Mr Selfridge rating well last week.

Inside Death Row was a big new show BUT Splash and Great Night Out could potentially run for many years where as Inside Death Row will only ever be just one series. Therefore the ratings for Splash and Great night out are of much bigger importance to Itv. Pete Fincham will be waiting on tenterhooks for the ratings tomorrow morning at 9am in the hope that Great night out still has a chance of becoming a comedy success, I doubt he was doing so this morning with such keen interest for Trevors show which only runs for two weeks and less riding on it.

Yes you did, in a round about way - you bigged it up prior to broadcast as "big new ITV....." just as you do with all ITV programmes, then when it did well you said "moving onto more important matters" - dismissing the successful rating and homing in on what you hope will be the next 2 ITV "failures" - namely Great Night Out & Splash.
All the characteristics of a Troll and not an ounce of sensible discussion in you - don't you realise you are being laughed at on here? I don't know whether to laugh at you or take pity on you.

By about 3 viewers. The shows are neck and neck, both doing very well.
Since you started this thread you have really shown yourself up as a raving nutter.
In my book he is NO.1 Troll on DS Forum - I nominate the BBC show Pointless as an apt description of his posts!.

5 million incl. +1 as advertisers do:rolleyes: I won't be using you predictions for this weeks lottery
Figures increased across the hour, peaking at the end, beat Silent Witness in all demos for those under 45 years of age. Need I say anymore?
