In a move that shocked precisely nobody, the new BlackBerry Z10 has launched to the expectant phone-buying public of the world.
The new handset features a number of non-standout features, with the addition of BlackBerry 10 OS the obvious talking point. However the 4.2-inch HD screen, dual core processor and 16GB of onboard storage fail to really set the world alight.
The 8MP camera offers a few nifty features, such as the ability actually* rewind time to get the picture you wanted, rather than the one you actually took.
We're still awaiting the magic of things like prices or a release date, but we'll update the story as soon as we hear.
More to follow
*not really
Will it stay that fast in real world useage though? Its so slick.
QNX isn't a system hog. Apps are handled so well. even on my playbook which is old hardware, i can have 6 or 7 apps open, live and running and no slow down. its better optimized on this phone. It will be fine.
Not everyone is as impressed as you two so far it seems
Watch the stream! It's super quick and intuitive! not sure how you can knock it, as nothing out there handles apps the way this phone does. It's a phone for god sake, what do people want it to do?? All they can really do is take what is out there and do it better! which is what they are doing. Besides SD card, and removable battery, these things alone are big plus points.
BBM video calling, I see those mucky little teenagers loving that.
Screen sharing look good, depending on how many you can share your screen with. Doing a presentation and everyone in the room has your phone screen on there phones..
This Z10 thing would have been great in 2010 or even 2011. But in 2013 it just looks stupid and really reminds me of the Pre from Palm before they died.

lol Really? Some things are new, some are not. But the overall package is fantastic.

i'm watching bits of it but still to see what it's unique selling point is
sure its quicker but all new phones this year will be quicker

You think? The device looks clunky and there is a massive gap between the screen and the edge of the device. The screen is only marginally bigger than the iPhone 5, and to be honest I just don't see any wow factor to it. It doesn't have the balance right tbh.

Why does it need a unique selling point? It just needs to do what the rest do and do it better, and it does. Simple as that. Apple's selling point was simplicity and ease of use for the iphone. the BB10 takes that simplicity, and kicks things up. Dont forget full flash on the browser and the fastest HTML 5 experience on any device.
Seamless live switching between apps, or just peek into one and then back to the video or music or browser. How can you not be impressed?

It obviously not clunky, an as for the size, Some people (me) hate the larger phones. I had an S3 yeah great phone but just too big for me.
I see a lot of people jumping ship from Android and the constant updates, then maybe your device doesn't update straight away then when it is there's another update and so on.

This is the START of a change for Backberry, they have made some big changes to how their phones operate. Its extremely good...

HTC One X Im sure has a "rewind" system whereby the best image from a whole bunch of shots can be picked and that is considered old hat now.
Nice phone RIM have made, but cant help thinking this thread is chock full of hyperbole. Game changer, seriously?

I'm glad they have kept the form factor sensible
Erm....
S3 = 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm
Z10 = 130 x 65.6 x 9mm
So roughly similar sizes but the Z10 has half the screen size...:)
