Lewis got something like 6m. No Penguins related or "last ever episode??" bounce.

    Gypsy trash just under 4

    Corrie about 9m and 8.5m

    Unadulterated figures awaited...

    Nothing for BBC shows yet.

This will surely never happen, because when England tried to sell their matches separately it almost spelt the end of the tournament - and I would assume the other nations have long memories. I don't know how it would work anyway because how would you decide which would be the one match per round? Surely ITV would always pick England if they had first choice which no other nation would agree to. I think it's likely the Six Nations will only be on one broadcaster for the foreseeable future, last time they did it with separate broadcasters it looked a right mess.

Well, the BBC1 programmes were down to virtually nothing when they came to an end.

Well it would have to be written into (my hypothetical) contract that ITV would have to screen at least one match featuring each team (but not all England games). That would them having to show France vs Italy or the other home nations matches.

    It could work :)

Looking at the Barb top ten for E4+1 shows it should be renamed The Big Bang Theory Channel since it hold all 10 of the top 10.

So a surprising 5.90m for Lewis, same as last week I think despite no MBB.

Penguins about a million more than I expected at 4.6m, pretty respectable for a subject done to death.

I think this proves what we already know that MBB and Lewis appeal to entirely different audiences and that as such both can coexist perfectly well, but at the same time neither would see a huge boost if they weren't competing with one another. 6.3m is more than respectable for a drama series which saw its audience dwindle markedly in its previous series.

I thought the Penguins documentary was highly entertaining and deserved every one of its viewers.

Both Corrie ratings seem a little on the high side, considering that an ITV spin doctor has released the figures as:

    Corrie (1)- 9.3m (inc +1)
    Corrie (2)- 8.8m (inc +1)

I wonder if someone at DS has made a mistake with the figures. It wouldn't surprise me considering the quality of the articles lately...

Those figures are full slot averages including +1.

    DS figures are tape-checked. Corrie 19.30: 19.35-20.00, Corrie 20.30: 20.30-20.55.

Lewis ended well. Think this series will be up on the last series overall which is surprising when you consider the competition its faced. GW on Channel 4 did better than I thought and the Penguin thing did almost exactly what I expected. Corrie posts two strong 9m+ ratings whilst EE is really struggling on just 7.7m with Emmerdale very close on its heels.

    The Chase - 3346 + 279
    Pointless - 3483

I don't get the (relatively speaking) up and down figures for these two.

Are some Chasers more fun to watch than others?
Is Pointless better on some days than others?

Well, it was 5.9 which isn't brill with a Corrie lead in. I think viewers are taping and watching in one sitting. It's impossible to watch highbrow quality stuff like this a week apart, and that's not great for a channel that exists to let viewers watch adverts.

They should have left it as it was. Be interesting to see what they do with Endeavour. If that runs as 2 hours then it proves Lewis was hacked around to dent Miranda and MBB.

It was getting lower ratings before it changed to this new format, so not sure how you an say it was a huge mistake to chop it up. I think you and I both know that nowadays 5.9m (or 6.3m depending which camp your in) is an excellent rating for ITV. The channel achieves far less than that for the vast majority of the week, with or without a Corrie lead-in.

I'm quite sure that ITV will be happy with Lewis' performance this series.

I only watch Pointless and the only 'hook' I can think of, is the build up of the prize money.

If it is small then the program is missable, but like recently it had reached £20,000, it becomes more compelling.

I real 'stato' could produce a viewing figure vs jackpot graph.:D;)

Any word on black mirror viewing figures yet? It's been the best thing on TV two years running now and deserves a bit more recognition than it received antecedently imo.

or it's overrated flawed drama ;):p

    1364

I forgot it was on and watched ITV2 +1 for the US comedies. The first one (rehashing the Wogan thing) was good, got bored with the other two

I'll try to catch it on 4seven, as it's bound to be on there loads in the next week

I think the split has been a good thing for Lewis, also not sure what outside of Whitechapel could have got decent ratings against Miranda/MBB

Also I don't think their ratings were hit that much, two different audience types for the channels. Nice to see alternative programming on the main channels
