Brrrr - it is very cold out and we have snow on the garden but not the drive or road thank goodness.
Hope everyone is keeping warm. It is lovely and cosy in the thread at the moment, but wonder when we will get a new one.
I love Sarah Silverman. Saw her when I was last in NY. She was over here a couple of years ago but for some reason she wasn't a hit. She is back over here now and doing another tour. She presented an award at the BAFTAs last night.
I was surprised Les Mis didn't do better. Best picture really was a shock!
Hope everyone has a good day - any news of John?
A little heads up, Sarah Silverman was on Graham Norton which is repeated this evening on BBC1 at 11.35pm.:)
You just have to ignore the embarrassing performance from a rather 'tipsy' (to put it mildly) Mark Wahlberg.:D
Hi all my fellow JJaters, it's bloomin' cold and damp, I'm not made for this weather.
I'm with you bblover, I can't stand cucumber either and I agree, you can taste it and it does smell!!
So I believe that's 2-2.
Actually a little confession - I can't stand salad I don't eat it and neither does my sister. If I was meant to eat lettuce, etc I'd have been born a rabbit.
nooooooooooo
runs off and check, i,m sure Augusta said she likes it
and that could make it 3-2
Good evening JJat
won,t be on long tonight
had a small accident in the kitchen,
hot fat, spat out of the pan, and got me right in the eye,
bit sore and streaming , but i,m alright , no permanent damage

Goodness, p135 and still no new home.
Still nothing from John either.
i've heard of her
didn't she do that very funny and jokey, but rude song about doing Matt Damon when she was seeing that late night talk show presenter
( i think it was jimmy kimmel )

really should stay well away from the kitchen
yep I like cucumber....
hope your eye is ok......hot fat can be painful....:(
kitchens are dangerous places.......:D what were you making?
Sorry to hear of your accident georgy. Hope you are feeling OK. We bought a spatter guard (big round piece of mesh) to prevent that very thing.
Going to the dentist today - problem with tooth next to the problem tooth - and a filling! Wonder if John goes to the dentist regularly. I remember when he had to have a tooth pulled shortly before he went back to Oz.
Heard the cold is going to stay here until at least March - oh well, more like my home. As long as the sun is shining I don't mind too much.

the dreaded dentist....
just found a book as a suggestion to read...Gone Girl, so will try and get hold of that....what other books are people reading?
so did we work out a date to meet up for coffee or lunch? Nyannie when could you make? With this much notice I can probably juggle things around, but how about sometime around easter.....? The school holidays start in the first couple of weeks of April, so maybe the last week or March, but not easter wkend.
had a bit of a nervous moment there.....I just polished everywhere including the laptop...screen and keyboard....and lost everything.... but after a bit of mad pressing of every button I could see......its back....:D:p:D
isnt it the summer in Australia, I can just dream of lovely warm weather.... outside today is just one of those grey and miserable kinds of days....
Evening all. Just had another tooth filled and my bank account is £150 lighter! Thank goodness for dental insurance!
I'm reading a biography of Andrew Jackson, Adam Gopnik's memoir of his 5 years in Paris, The Hamlet by William Faulkner and Claudia Roden's book of Spanish Food.
Isn't it cold? I feel like Nanook of the North wrapped up with my hat, scarves, gloves etc. I really am unclimatized to the cold.
I have had another thought - how about meeting for brunch? Many places do breakfast until 11 am. We could meet and then do what we want to do and leave London before the rush hour. Please PM me if you are interested. I will then check out venues and prices. . . Just a thought.
I can't really do anything now until May. I cannot believe how my calendar has gotten so busy, but I have this clinic I have to attend in London and it lasts 6 weeks!
i,m really easy on the day of the meet
just give me the day
and i will just work it out
but if it is in May not the 10 or 20th
important birthdays and they can't be changed
most of May is fine for me too....at the moment.....
this year is just vanishing already........its half term around here next week, so at least I know whats happening ....
maybe I can get out into the garden and do a bit of tidying up...the bulbs are starting to come through. Im loving the snowdrops in other peoples gardens, but Ive never had any luck growing them......nor have I ever had any luck growing lillies of the valley.....we had them in a garden when I was about 6, and I always loved the shape and scent of them...
But ive bought loads of bulbs/plants and none have ever taken in my garden:(
no there are some celebrations more important than others.....
Valentines is more of an idea than a reality.....
Discovered today that our cat has worked out a way to push the kitchen window open for herself, so she can use it as a cat flap.... I had been wondering how on earth the kitchen window had been opening by itself, and was convinced my memory was going.....
only to discover Chikken the cat ....on her back paws pushing it open.... that is quite an achievement for a small cat...!!!! We do leave it open for her in the summer, but ....its too cold in the winter...and try as I might, I cant work out a way of fixing a cat flap into the glass french windows at the back..

Good Morning JJat
only a quick pop in this morn
got a lunch appointment
speak later
Sorry I'm away so often ....am v busy, plus I do sometimes post elsewhere!
Would love to meet up. Looks like May is turning out to be the favoured month. I can do most days but not 9th to 18th as am going to see Pasha Kovalev from SCD in his show , then going away for a few days (events not related to each other, honest, guv!) Am also going to see Vincent and Flavia in Midnight Tango on 4th. You will gather I loved SCD this year!
Weekends are much the best for me as I pretty well work full time at the moment (retirement, what's that? ). I am happy with any meal ......perhaps brunch or lunch would be best?
Anyway hope we can sort something out, sure we will

You could start a new trend in kitchen outfits for the accident prone.
