What a great idea to include the set in the anniversary epidode. Wonderful if matt would wander in. I think if the actors would do a first doc episode would also be ingenious idea cant see david bradley agreeing to it though but maybe the other less well known cast. Be nice to see them refilm a dalek episode or the tenth planet.
More exicited about the docu drama than the anniversery ep
Me too. I think it's going to be something really special. I'm still crossing my fingers for the 'new adventures of the first doctor'. I bet they've at least thought about it!
I know a lot of people don't want to recast previous Doctors/companions but looking at the cast in character on the TARDIS set someone must be thinking of filming a brand new First Doctor story surely.
I'm probably not alone in thinking that there's a ready-made cast that could be included in the anniversary episode itself if needed. It wouldn't be disrespectful to the original actors because there's an obvious opportunity for the likes of William Russell and Carole Ann Ford to appear as older versions of their characters too. But the thought of Matt Smith's Doctor in an adventure with Ian, Barbara, Susan and the First Doctor is a pleasing one (to me)
Does anyone know if they've got the exterior of the TARDIS right? Particularly the sign, which said 'respond to urgent calls' rather than 'respond to all calls'?
How accurate is this console to the original one? If so, I'm a bit happy they've changed the colors since then. I don't care for that green-blue one too much.

Well the Viewers only ever saw it in Black and White

I thought they used to use certain colours or shades because they would look better in black and white. So I guess it was never intended that the console would be seen as green.

That's what I thought but having just looked it up it seems that when they changed to colour with Pertwee they carried on using the Green Console for one season.
They then built a second version of the Console but this too was painted green, it wasn't till Baker that we got a grey/silver/off white version of the Console.
My mind must have blanked out the fact that the 3rd Doctor had a green console

Ha. I guess I must have blanked it out too. I was probably too distracted by whatever brightly coloured jacket Pertwee was wearing for that episode
Looking at those pictures I can't help but wish they could have recreated it with an eye to 2013 production standards, anachronistic though that would have been, perhaps because of early imprinting the classic white/grey with the pneumatic central column remains the gold standard for me and I would love to see that redone.
Sadly looking at the pictures makes me think one supposed spoiler, which is that John Hurt's character uses the console from Adventures in the Anniversary special, is bobbins.

They have had Barbara and Ian included in an Eleveth Doctor story. They were featured in a comic strip, printed for DW Magazine 2 or 3 issues ago.
I liked it a lot. It actually brought a tear to my eye. I loved Jaqueline and William's characters very much. When I became fixated on DW and everything about it in 2005, I was sad to learn that they left just over 18 months after DW started.
Apparently, I've heard that when Peter Purves was cast as Steven Taylor, the Tardis would have been too crowded, what with Maureen O'Brien there as well, so Jaqueline and Bill decided to leave to give William Hartnell some breathing space and for Peter to have a fresh start with Maureen.
The production team back then didn't like the Tardis to be too crowded. The same in 1982, when Adric was killed off.

If you look at industrial pictures of that era, (nuclear power stations, military establishments etc) that shade of greeny/blue is used on consoles etc.
The colour is very similar. It was that era's idea of clean and modernistic, in the 70's and 80's a more stark white/silver look was the idea of the future.
And now with the new concept that TARDIS are living things that grow we have a more biological look (giant rib bones holding up the ceiling etc)

She's got that Barbara expression down perfectly!

Can we at least all be grateful it wasn't repainted brown and orange for colour. The music alone in some of those Pertwee stories gives me a headache.
