On February 28 2013 it will be SEVEN years since Madonna released her single "Sorry" And I think it's mad how fast time has flown by. The single was a brilliant track and I've got to say I think it's one of the best off the album. Unfortunately "Sorry" was overshadowed by the previous single "Hung Up"
Sorry had an amazing baseline that was slightly reminiscent to Jackson 5's "Can you feel it"
I loved the strong female and self empowerment themes from this song.
The music video was brilliant and Madonna looked amazing in that purple leotard. And the performance of the song on the Confessions Tour was great! Especially when she jumps on his back and then bends her legs over her head! lol
I'm surprised that she didn't include "Sorry" on the MDNA Tour as it would have fit perfectly with Girl Gone Wild or I Fu***D Up. Hopfully she'll use the song in the not too distant future as the song was quite popular and did earn her a 12th UK Single in the charts back in 2006.
What do you guys think of "Sorry"?

`sorry` marked the first time since `true blue` where she achieved 2 #1s off the same album and the track truly deserved its #1 status here. i liked the video and her tour performance too, the remixes were great as well.
this year its 30 years since madonna surfaced!
I remember my 14th Bday and i got the single as a gift much later...was so excited by it...cant believe how fast its flown by! that December prior i remember buying the album with my parents in Woolies ...so many memories!
But yes...my main nit pick for the era is that after Sorry the music videos didnt continue the way i hoped...i always wanted a full story like a mini film across the single releases....shame it never came to fruition!
i think my favourite single is "get together" but i ADORE Sorry too and its ode to throbbing basslines, Disco rhythms and clever lyricisation (as ever...is that a word?) and arrangement....sublime! And i too hoped it would have matched Hung Up succes in 2006..same with the later releases too but alas....
EPIC!
Didn't do as well? It was a UK number 1:D (her 12th out of 13)
And yes, RetroMusicFan, I agree, the PSB remix was very fine!
I love the confessions album, has to be one of my all time favourite albums. It reminds me of the days where I first started going out clubbing, underage! Great memories.
There was a part in the video which always amused me. Madonna and her gang dance for a bit and then apparently start skating in a line. They're actually stood still, however, it's just the camera moving round to give that illusion!
Haha naughty...
It does remind me though of going in town (well nearby...we call it town) and several clubs playing COADF tracks basically and me thinking hang on it Let It Will Be a single? I only just remembered that so fun!
and agreed the PSB remix i LOVE and i adore how she incorporated it into tour just INSANE epic!! and shame they didnt collab on Hard Candy as widely announced ...nevermind!
I think the fact that she segued every song into the next in non-stop-tour-de-force ness was a genius idea! but toally agree!
Haha i do remember the "Making of Sorry" doc on MTV in 2006 and it showed Madonna trying to adapt to roller skates...reminded me of the "Making Of Power Of goodbye" when she learnt how to play chess too
yeah COADF kinda ties third place with me with ROL and AL (the three behind Erotica in second and LAP in pole position)....so tough ranking but its a phenomenal album just so many sounds/directions and vibes across the album one moment your happy crying the next u wanna burn a sweat on the next you go melancholic and reflective the next you crank up the high energy....its a definite album that brings an experience with it (a theme on most her albums)
Hung Up had a few segment when she was in a dance studio in the pink leotard amidst City Dancers/her posse....and later her green one with jeans/leather jacket ensemble....
Sorry had her in a metallic purple get up (my fave) very sci-fi like and different (also worn on tour) and her one piece white suit.
And tbh hardly embarassing more "fun" and Madonna is one of few to have pulled it off back then...and now tbh...however in give it 2 Me i kinda am divided on opinion 3 years later...but alas...each to their own ....personally i wanted MORE back then..her choreo with her troupe were ELECTRIC and ICONIC
I think that was the Hung Up video. I've only had the Confessions album for a few weeks but I'm glad I bought it. It's really good
slick as! Its funny COADF is an album that i bought and reminds me so much of winter...yet also its perfect for summer blasting also....its a multi-mood album and I love it when she does that
No that is Hung Up, lol, I will never get that image of her wiggling her pink lycra clad arse cheeks at the camera.
Sorry is a continuation of HU featuring the lycra clad middle ager on roller skates.
Shhhhh! I won't tell if you won't, haha!
i love comments like this....not "really a fan" but appreciating when something hits it right for you!
Epic man
