It's early days I know to be setting up this thread but thought I would do so so as we can put any news about entries/withdrawals or other news prior and during the event.
World Championships 2013 (London, Canada 10-17.03.2013) - Entries: http://t.co/SBUs4OinXD
A last minute entry from the Russians is Alena Leonova who won the silver medal last year but who bombed spectacularly at Russian nationals (I think she finished 6th) but has made a comeback (of sorts) in the Russian Cup competition last weekend, which she won.
If I hear any news/info re: TV coverage etc, will advise - but think we are getting Eurosport coverage & some limited BBC coverage (Robin has tweeted something along those lines)

Yes, she is a bit hit and miss. I do like her though.
Thanks mandylou, I am looking forward to The Worlds.
Yes, so am I.
And the Eurosport coverage schedule: http://tv.eurosport.co.uk/search.shtml?query=figure%20skating
A lot of the top junior men are going to be missing (Max Kovtun, Han Yan in particular) but the ladies looks fantastic as ever with all the Russian girls, and Papdakis/Cizeron are a really exciting dance team to watch out for.
Hi just popped back to remind people that Eurosport2 are showing extensive highlights of Junior Worlds from Weds @ 4pm onwards until Sunday but thank you RooCat & serafimo for letting people know & putting some great info up already.
Looking forward to it as a taster for the Worlds next month & perhaps seeing some stars of the future
Off topic slightly but Dorothy Hamill - the 1976 Olympic Champion is taking part in DWTS this season partnered by Tristan McManus (for those of you not old enough to remember her she won the same Olympics as John Curry & here is her bio http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorothy_Hamill).
Just found this link on the BBC website for online and red button coverage http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/20669335

0230-1430 World Figure Skating: Men's Free Repeat (red button only)

Yay! So happy about this as I don't have Eurosport.
I am pleased for you even though I do have Eurosport, I can watch both:D
That's fabulous news - thank you for sharing. Will be probably switch between both too
We have a slight switch with timings on Junior Worlds (not surprising considering its Eurosport ) - the 4pm show was switched to 8pm - all others seem to be fine though.
It's Nicky Slater & Simon Reed presenting (no Chris Howarth) today - Pairs Short just started
Interesting so far & yes the Bukin in the vids is the son of Andre Bukin, who skated with Natalia Bestiamanova
Looking for some pairs ones now but here's a results summary of both events

Junior Worlds pairs FINAL RESULTS: http://t.co/7NjCmlwu3U
Recap/results of Ice Dance final http://t.co/xx65LpcATc & would check the above channel later to see if dance vids have been added.
I'm not impressed with the ice-dancers being allowed to carry on again after stopping with an injury:rolleyes: What on earth is happening lately?
As far as stopping/starting is concerned, they really need to clarify the ruling as people are now using to take a breather of they are have the slightest injury or niggle The only time I saw people stop was if there was a equipment malfunction like undone laces etc
They are allowed a 3 minute break with no automatic deduction if they have to stop for injury - but of course their PCS scores are heavily affected by the break, so it's not really a chance to have a breather with no penalty. If they have to stop for any other reason, like a costume malfunction, it's a 2 point deduction.
I'm really pleased Gabriella & Guillaume managed to get through the program in the end, they've been the outstanding team this year and really deserved a medal after all the work they've done this season.
But how could she carry on skating as she did when she stopped because her ankle was supposedly hurting
I agree they were fantastic but their scores didn't seem to be affected very much being as they totally messed up the twizzles and the programme was stopped therefore affecting the performance.
If you compared their scores to watch they have received at other events, their PCS scores were much lower than they've previously received. All the other elements received level 3 or 4, giving them a higher base value, which is why even which the stop they were able to still be 3rd in the free and 2nd overall.
OK but can you please explain how you can stop skating because your ankle is hurting due to an injury because it was bandaged, and then continue a few minutes later. It just does not equate to me. They were able to have a massive breather and then carry on, what if everyone decided to do this?
They sprayed her ankle and then applied an ice pack to it so I don't think it was just a slight niggle and to get a breather. You could see she was favouring the foot and kept lifting it.
Personally don't think it was that wise a decision to carry on as she could have done much more serious damage to herself. Personally I question the break at the Four Continents that Virtue and Moir had much more due to the alleged cramp and then completed the routine than the break in this routine.
