It should be a great fight no doubt but is anyone else a bit disappointed that sky have reverted back to putting boxing on Box Office i really struggle to see how PPV fights is gonna help the sport other than line the promoters pockets!

Especially when they show bums like 'Parcel Force' Harrison on PPV.

At least Froch & Kessler are top quallity fighters & are worthy of PPV if Sky are going to go back down that road, although I do agree with what you are saying.

Anyone fancy Gavin rees' chances tonight? I can't see him him winning but I hope he gives a good account of himself.

Given how good Broner is supposed to be, it was a little surprising that Rees landed so many big punches. Obviously, he didn't have the power to hurt him but would a genuine superstar allow himself to be hit so much or would he use defensive skills until he unloaded his own punches ?

Yeah his cockiness may get the better of him one day when someone hits him harder than he expected. He looks like one hell of a fighter though and very exciting to watch when he stops showboating and gets down to business.

Adrien Broner is a special talent indeed.

I can see elements of a few great fighters in him, namely, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roy Jones Jr & Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I'd like to see him move up to welterweight, because may great lightweights in the past have done so, plus there is so much talent in the 10st 7lb class that having Broner there would just enhance it even more.

If I were Ricky Burns, I would not be too keen to get into the ring with him. Same result except a bit quicker.

I think it was a case of "giving" Rees some cheap shots knowing he wasn't going to hurt him - this must have disheartened Rees quite quickly especially knowing he was going to be getting them back with interest.

Broner is one of the cockiest fighters I have seen but I think he will be too big and strong for any lightweight out there including Ricky Burns who isn't really a banger and that is the only sort of fighter that can upset Broner imho.

    Is it April the 1st??

Audley Harrison has said he now has what it takes to be a world champion and is making another comeback, starting with the prizefighter this weekend.

Someone really needs to have a serious word with him and tell him not to risk his health no more, he never has and never will , win the world championship.

This news doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

After his latest inept performance against David Price, many were saying it would be the last time we saw Harrison & he'd never get a big fight again.

I pointed out that Harrison is totally deluded, but he does the gift of the gab in a moribund heavyweight division & will talk his away into another big fight.

It would not surprise me if he won Prizefighter & ended up taking part in another big fight of some description.

Depends what you mean by "big" World title, no, but he'll always be some sort of British title level gatekeeper, if he doesn't retire. You can't blame him, people want to keep throwing money at him, he's not going to turn it down.

Disappointed with the Prizefighter line up. I don't particularly like the format, but the last one they did was really good and I thought they might have turned a corner with it. But now we're straight back to the has beens and never weres.

Adrien Broner probably needs to go upstairs for the greatness he craves. Junior welterweight and welterweight beckon.
Might even run into his idol Floyd before he retires.

I don't think Floyd has too much longer left TBH.

    He's 36 now & he's already in semi-retirement.

He picks & chooses his opponents & fights fairly infrequently these days.

By the time Broner gets to 147, Floyd will probably running a casino in Las Vegas.

You only need to look at his shoulders to see that he's a weight or two above what he's fighting at. I don't think he'd be too out of place if he fought at light middle tbh.

Well a few fears about David Price's punch resistance came to fruition tonight, stopped by second round knockout to Tony Thompson. Wasn't even that good a shot either really, should have no business getting stopped like that.

I always thought that Price was being over hyped. He's still a novice and a wily old pro like Thompson was always going to expose him.

It wasn't like Thompson did anything special mind you, it was a seemingly cuffing shot, and Price went down like a sack of shite. There's always been rumours about his ability to take a shot (well not just rumours, he was prone to getting stopped in the amateurs), but seeing him on silly street from a punch like that is... alarming.

Yes, but that was a real vicious punch, here it looked like Price only got taped on the side of the head.

I can only think that there was some sort of rabbit punch effect to it as there looked nothing to it and price just folded to the ground. It was a bit of a freak of an ending to be honest and it never looked like a potential knockout blow, heavyweight or not.
