In that case I'll give it a wide berth. I see Lloyds TSB still don't have an app for Windows phone, which was quite a big bugbear of mine when I had the Lumia. A shame really as I like the look of these new phones.
I looked at it myself and while the OS seems fast and smooth, the phones seemed to bulky and brightly coloured. the other problem is that the Os is too rigid with not much customisation.
The lack of apps is not a big thing for me as long as I got some that can do what I want. the one problem for me is that I am thinking at some point of getting a Parrot drone and the only way they can be controlled is via Android or Iphone.
i am sure windows phone will suit some people, but it looks too much like windows 8 for me.
I hope the bring out these phones ASAP. I can't wait to get rid of my galaxy note. It's becoming more useless by the day despite the fact that I'm using it less and less.

What is wrong with the note? i have never used one, but I have heard they are or was pretty good phones, if a little too large.
I think as phones go, the size of the Nexus 4 is about the max, anything larger is just too large to hold for any length of time, i was talking to a friend this evening for a hour on mine and that was enough.
It is getting silly now, phones was getting smaller, now they are getting larger again, we will be having Ipad size phones stuck to our ears if we carry on going the way we are.

My note keeps switching itself off, rebooting and freezing. Just yesterday I was trying to make a call and the phone kept freezing. In the end I had to reboot the phone. So I'd been messing around for over 5 minutes before I could make my call.
Initial prices are in £169.99 and £299 so not £120 but I'd expect these prices to fall as deals get offered. Take the VAT off and the price is £136 so nearer the mark. Get it down to sub £150 and I think these 520's will shift off the shelves.
Battery and SD card replacement are my only two issues, if I can't do both I'd not buy the phone. I'll get one for the wife though;)
I thought that and still do to a certain extent even if I did get a phone that got no SD slot and a sealed battery.
But one thing about having just 16Gb on a a phone makes you think what you put on it. the battery could be a pain if I am somewhere that I can not charge. Not that it happens much these days.
I can't believe I said just 16GB, a few years back that would have been massive.

If it is a good phone than £170 is not bad, that was my budget at one point for a mobile phone. £300 is a bit different, it would have to be a really good phone for that price and offer something special. For £500 it have to be made from gold

It sounds like you need to do a factory reset and start again from a clean slate.

Yea I could do that but I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle of doing this over and over again. I've had problems with the phone since I got it but they have progressively got worse. I did a factory reset a few months after I got the device. Android phones are great in that they do a lot of things that phones on other OS can't. However I think that for me they require too much maintenance and in my experience they lack stability. I think for a lot of people the openness of the android OS outweighs these things. For me sadly it doesn't.
Whats the score with Windows\Nokia When it comes to updates with the OS. Is it going to be like Android, eg you dony get updates
If Win 9 is released in 12mths or less would you get?

Updates are still OKed by the phone manufacturers. I only got my Lumia 920 update yesterday, there was a MS part and Nokia specific part as well. With what MS had pulled with WP7 devices (no upgrade to WP8), one can't really be sure what will happen when WP9 comes. One can only assume that a hardware that runs WP8 with an NT kernel will be capable of running WP9 as well.

They don't require any maintenance at all, i had my wildfire for just over 18 months until I broke it and only once did I have to reset it and I can't remember why I did that. I know someone who got a HTC Hero and while it is getting on now, as far as i now they have never reset it, in fact I doubt they would know how.

Maybe it is the way you use it.
