This whole feather v synthetic nonsense is just petty. Unless you are a person who has a (rare) feather allergy, you should only care if the pillow is comfy and the duvet is appropriately warm and snuggly.
Snobby attention seeking doodoo IMO
All my sheets and pillow cases are percale. I just prefer it. It doesn't wrinkle like ordinary bedding, and if you hang out after washing you don't need to iron them. (I am of course NOT referring to the many sheets/pillowcases I bought during my ill fated venture into B & B , but I save them for visitors! )
Easy washing is a very good justification for choice of B&B bedding. I'm just too lazy to iron but I do like top gauge Egyptian and get 'em in sales and don't have a fussy bedfellow who needs to get into a smooth bed .
There is a great difference I would have thought between the establishment that has a goodly number of rooms and needs a laundry service or industrial quality washer and someone with fewer rooms and customers who can do it all at home.
What is shown on this programme is that even a professional service isn't perfect.
Several groups had hissy fits on arrival because – if they haven’t brought their own slippers, they’re asked to (re)use a pair provided by the chalet. It’s normal at ski chalets apparently because of the likelihood of large amounts of snow being walked around the property.
However, one of the hosts is British – but has perfect French and has been married to a Frenchman for about 10 years. She – Karin - decided to introduce the other couples (all French) to a few British specialities.
The scones and cream went down okay at tea on arrival day - as did the sweet porridge at breakfast the following morning (T&L Golden Syrup doing the rounds) but… and an epic fail, this… when she offered her guests a taste of Marmite on toast, she omitted to inform them that Marmite does not benefit from a thorough dunking into milky breakfast coffee…

Lol, sounds like entertaining viewing. A channel should show other countries versions of FIAB here. I'd be happy to watch with subtitles!

True.
I have natural fabrics on our bed, out of preference and I do iron the sheets. I find it fairly soothing, although I dry them on top of a big oblong lid on the range, so they're more or less ironed for me really.
The thing is, it's something I prefer (natural fibre/ironed) so I have to do the work.
Other things I can cut corners on.

Happy birthday, Birthday Girl! Hope you enjoy what's left of it
I remember this week's one from about 18 months or so ago, the Alison Steadman lookalike rung the bell for me straight away! Candida, still think it's a weird name now
What I don't remember is noticing the dirt of that grill in Helen's kitchen! It looked really manky!
Btw Birthday Girl, what series of Coach Trip were you in and can it be seen anywhere online? Did you go with anyone else and if so who was it? I know it's off topic but it is your birthday.
I remember a couple who may have been sisters or perhaps friends and one was a Cliff Richard fanatic and the other may have been you.

My BB must be served up separately....I don't want them touching ANYTHING!
Snobby attention seeking doodoo IMO
LOL...but they all go down the same hole
Happy Birthday. Hope you are having a lovely day
Why? dont you dip?
I've been wondering who Helen's voice puts me in mind of and it's bugging me.
I reckon Jane Horrocks could play her in a sit com about a Holistic Therapy Hotel
Happy Birthday BG - enjoy! x
Thanks both of you.
I just remembered what happened with the two women when they visited Saba Hotel......
The only thing beans should touch is toast!
Oh and I used to like those tins of beans with sausage and burgers in..they were ok together!
In the sea..Yes..
In beans...No.
You are exactly the same as my friend....she doesnt mind toast but cant bear them touching anything else!!!! How strange!!
Exactly my thoughts on this week too! Oh and Happy Birthday btw.
Helen needs to take a brillo pad or something to that grill thing that was behind her when she was in the kitchen. It looked blooming filthy!

OH NO!
I don't mind beans touching anything EXCEPT the toast, not the toast - makes it soggy.
Yes!
And I remember that Helen was given a room least likely to suit her

Is it your birthday today by any chance?
As Alison Steadman said in Abigail's Party: "Little top up, Ange?"
Happy Birthday ya old ancient fart - very rarely get to insult you these days so thought I'd do it on your birthday.
Best wishes.
