It's just flashed up on the BBC ticker that commentator Tony Gubba has died aged 69 after a short illness.
I'd no idea he was unwell - this has come as a real shock. Thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.

Yes my sympathies and commiserations to his friends and family.
RIP Tony.
Warm and honest commentator. RIP.

I think it was only the last two weeks he missed.
Remember him on MOTD and Sportsnight as a youngster.
Only seen one Dancing on Ice this year & I'm sure I heard Tony on it.
I am truely shocked as I had no idea he was unwell.

He missed the last three weeks but they did say he was ill. It was the final last night and they discussed it at length on This Morning today without revealing he was this poorly.
Sad news.
