I suppose being a celebrity it much like any other job and a lot of the older ones have retired or sadly died.
I couldn't believe it when I recently saw an advert at a theatre. It was for a old style variety show.
Top of the bill was Freddie "Parrot Face" Davies!
No one under the age of 45 will have a clue who he is,but in the early 70's he appeared on almost every TV programme.
I would have sworn he died 30 years ago!
He's been the main presenter on BBC Radio Manchester for years.
No offence, but most of the names in the thread are so easy to google, it's only when I don't find any google reference to their activities for 10 or 20 years, not even them dying, that I genuinely wonder about a lost celebrity.
A few obscure ones
Andi Peters
Andi Crane
Violet Berlin
Josy D'arby.
Violet Berlin I remember her she had one hell of a lisp she did a kids tech program in the 90s..... what was that program called, just googled it ....Bad influence what a hard name to pronounce if you have a lisp:D
Former soap stars
Brian Hinsliff=Coronantion Street Spider=Coronation Street
Reg Holdsworth
They should have kept The Last Of The Summer Wine Old British TV Actors' home open. That's where Jean Alexander ended up
Spider turned up a couple of weeks back in Being Human as one of the men with sticks and rope.
Gate keepers of the 'other side' when you die and pass over.
You used to know they were disappearing when they got plonked in the bottom right hand corner on " Celebrity Squares "
Ugh that programme was horrible. Apart from Danny Baker, I don't think I knew who anybody was. They'd announce 'from the world of comedy, Bozo McGuire!' and I'd be like 'what 'world of comedy'? What the hell has he been in?'
My mum's reason for having it on was 'they used to do this in the 70s and they were all well known people!'
Comments
I saw him shopping in Waitrose in North Finchley a couple of years ago. Much errr..broader and much greyer.

Looks like times are tough for Violet, as it appears that she can only afford half a haircut on her homepage

Isn't he the narrator for The Big Reunion?
He was a Producer at Channel Four at one time too (he produced "Shipwrecked") and also a Producer at BBC1 producing TOTP.
Didn't she have alcohol problems?
That's a recurring name on here.

that mentions Jeremy Spake.
He was in so many films in the 80's 90's.
Anneka does the early morning saturday show on Radio 2, just before Sounds Of The Sixties.
If you Google and still can't find anything on said celebrity since 1999, then I'll start getting worried.:p
