well, i'm labour supporter but I have to say the tories have just announced a belter of a budget.
im just a bit confused about the tax allowance - it's gone from £8105 to £9440 (april 13) and from next year it is going to £10,000 so this is fantastic news if my workings out are right. Does it mean that 9440 - 8105 = 1345 /12 = an extra £112 per month take home pay? It sounds too good to be true so i'm obviously a bit sceptical
the mortgage loans sound a good way forward aswell

Digital Spy has made me laugh quite a lot today
to be fair i think my query will be useful to a lot of ds who usually partake in threads such as 'do you have a bowl cut?' Horn honking and 'swtich off tv or on standby'?
People who work hard and want to geddon.
The Global Race.
Hard working families.
And now the leader of the opposition.,
Tax cuts for millionaires.
One Nation.
Hard working families.
There you go, that's every parliamentary debate for the next two years, let's get on with discussing Bryan Ferry.
No, you just won't pay tax on that amount, So you will save the income tax paid on that £112.00. - £22.40 a month. Still worth having though.
this years is 914L yes ?
Maybe 1000L, they may start a new system.
oh fgs:(
This years is 944L (9440/10)
Next year's tax code will be 944L as of 6th April 2013.
The year after next will probably be 1000L.
It isn't really that great. The increase from 9440 to 10,000 is only 560 which is not a great increase compared to some of the recent years increases.
So, about £22-50 per month extra.
Still better than a kick in the sphericals.
Still - its going in the right direction - no?
I personally believe the low tax threshold should be at the same level as minimum wage (i.e. those on minimum wage would effectively be tax exempt).
i only like over you the rest is crap
2p a night saving.
Cheeky. It's 3p, I'll have you know.
Yep 26p
