Does the State of Israel exist?
I ask this question purely based on the fact that without American military backing it is likely it would crumble. I recalled them unilaterally declaring the state of israel without American backing initially, they later fell in line. The "Holy Land" on which Israel claims dominion was never meant to be claimed for one individual faith or religion. It is interesting how the majority Islamic countries do not recognise Israel, or have no diplomatic relations. Based on past and current U.N. charters Israel doesn't even have a right to exist, yet it is remarkable how it is recognised by most Western economies. Interestingly some see the establishment of Zion as acceptable based on the results of the holocaust (is so which holocaust as there was more than one?). Israel has declared dominion over a land which was never intended to belong to one people. Sadly we have the terrible situation in which many human rights abuses are committed by Israel, in how they treat Palestinians not allowing free trade.
Does the state of Israel have a legal right to exist based on interational law and conventions?

Says who?
Well it is recognised as a sovereign state by every single major international organisation, so I would say the answer is yes.
but its not on my map.
According to wiki a sovereign state is:
".......a political organization with a centralized government that has supreme independent authority over a geographic area. It has a permanent population, a government, and the capacity to enter into relations with other sovereign states."
Israel meets this definition completely.
The question of should have the right to exist is irrelevant; they do and that's the end of it.
I would support a non-Jewish Israel.
I agree, its an artificial state.
Yes it does.
What is wrong is their continual defiance of international law by extending their territory by means of building illegal settlements, often populated by fanatics.
The displaced Palestinian people have a right to live in a sovereign state based on 1967 borders.
wtf is a non jewish israel?
are you saying that your objection is not political, you just don't like jews?
And many countries in the world only exist because of military even UK
In what category do you fall then?
Are you keen to see a non Islamic Republic of Iran too? Or is this a Jewish thing?
The UN were instrumental in setting up the State of Israel.

God said so, obviously.
...and that underpins Israel's full legitimacy as a separate state as does UN resolution 181: http://domino.un.org/unispal.nsf/0/7f0af2bd897689b785256c330061d253
However, the Palestinians are equally entitled to a viable state of their own as President Obama quite rightly stated in his speech in Jerusalem last week:
Unfortunately, threads about the current impasse in the Middle East seem to attract the usual suspects comprising the extreme right, the far left and militants all motivated by the same outlook: prejudice.
Genuine progressives ought instead to be supporting those charities, civic groups, peace movements and political parties that seek to bring Palestinians and Israelis together and that press for peace.
The rhetoric and the actions of the Arab nations prior to 1967 and subsequently would not incline me to trust the maintenance of the 67 borders in perpetuity. If you say you will sweep the Jews into the sea as a Jewish person would you believe that, most especially when gunmen were continually infiltrating your narrow borders prior to 67?
You must have bought your map from the world renowned emporium for conscientious cartographers.
#Hamasshop.
I think they have done quite well without American backing and they did quite well without American backing when they fought the British for independence. The only reason the US is interested in Israel is because they support their interests in the Middle East. So yes of course the State of Israel exists.
