Phoebe's baby shower ep, Monica and Rachel realise that she's not actually keeping the babies so instead suggest they buy her stuff she can use after she's done being pregnant. One of them I'm sure suggests they buy her those cute leather pants she liked. But being a vegetarian Phoebe is against wearing the carcus of an animal. She even lambasted Joey and Chandler for their leather barker loungers.
Again Phoebe, in one ep Joey is selling Christmas trees and Phoebe hates the idea of dressing up a tree so grotesquely. Yet I'm sure in a later series she's one of the friends helping decorate (badly) Monica's tree.
I've got one for ye folks. Can anyone name the only 'Friend' to appear on Cheers? Now in fairness, if you have ITV4 and watched tonights episode you have an unfair advantage...

I think it would be an older Friend as they all weren't the same age and Cheers is old, but I have no idea as I don't like Cheers.
I must be the only person in the world who loves the one where Joey speaks French.
I found it really funny too! Just started reading this thread, can honestly say i can't even think of any friends episode i havent liked! I loved the show and don't take it too seriously when ive watched it. I'm not stupid i know they say and do things that no person would ever do in real life, but its not real life so i just enjoy it!

Lisa Kudrow. Haven't seen the episode but wiki is v helpful
Of course Lisa Kudrow was pencilled in for the role of Roz in Frasier, before Peri Gilpin got it.
Yep she was dropped and replaced. And it was the same guy who dropped her from Frazier who auditioned her for Friends, which made her think she had no chance as she thought he "hated" her.
I can't believe seasons 1-2 aren't generally favoured by fans. They're my 2 fave seasons. The characters were more raw yet naive. The story lines were more character driven rather than solely comedy driven. They were 'cool' people you would have liked to be friends with. By the end, I wouldn't have wanted to be within a 10 mile radius! It was like watching a slapstick cartoon by the last few seasons, to the point of embarrassment as a viewer.

My general view is: seasons 1 and 2, good, season 3 the best, seasons 4 & 5 generally keep up the standard but each drops towards the end, seasons 6 & 7 are my least favourite (really hated 6 on first viewing, softened on it a little since), and each of seasons 8, 9 and 10 improves a little (but not back up to the standard of the first 3).
Having just rewatched season 5, might it be that "The One With Joey's Bag" is the tipping point for Joey's stupidity, the point where it crosses the line?
What's cute about Joey is when he buys the V Encyclopedia he's able to retain the information and use it in context. He's also sharp enough to point out the salesman's flaws.
It's so sad when they all start talking about Korea!! But this is not the same bag wearing, noodle soup eating, French speaking Joey with an identical hand twin!!
Also a few Geller Gripes this morning.
I think it's the one where they are selling the family home they say they needed Monicas room for a gym and Monica says a tanning bed and a few magazines does not constitute a gym! Yet in an earlier episode Monica's old room is full of gym equipment.
Also Monica is angry that "all" her stuff is ruined and she has no memories but Jack said at the start of the episode there were a load of Easy Bake Ovens up in the attic. So she has some memories!
And didn't she get a box of childhood stuff from them in the one with the prom video...

I think the issue wasn't the fact she'd lost her boxes of stuff, but it was ONLY hers that was ruined and not Ross' - just so Jack's Porsche wouldn't get its tires wet! It just reiterated her opinion that her parents favoured him over her.

Yea I suppose that makes sense but at least that he put her ovens up safe in the attic.
That reminds me , in the one where they have the male nanny, Ross alludes to the fact that he felt his dad was disappointed in him for playing inside not "like a real boy". Maybe he wasn't such a golden boy after all, just slightly golden compared to poor Monica
The one with the male nanny really annoyed me too. Not only did it expose Ross' judgemental side, especially when he asked him if he was gay or at least bi, but how petulant he could be sometimes, especially during the puppet show when he stormed off.
Ross really never became likable again after the 'MY SANDWICH!!?!?!' debacle.
Also, the entire storyline about Ross speaking in a posh british accent to impress his students was just ridiculous.

"Monica Gellaaaarrrrrr" was amusing though.
It also showed his vulnerable side to be fair when he broke down in the same episode and revealed he acted the way he acted with Freddy Prince because of the way his dad acted with him when he was a kid.

Joining this thread late, but there are a few that always bug me.
1) When Chandler and Rachel met. First episode appears to be the first time they meet, then in flashbacks they met as teenagers, then they first kissed in a nightclub, but then it turns out they kissed at a collage party in the 80s.
2) The episode where Chandler can't cry. Yet later we see him cry at the 80s collage party.
3) There is an episode in which they have a newly filmed 'flashback'. In it you can see hanging in Monica's apartment the picture with the woman coming out that Phoebe gave Monica in a previous episode. Yet the flashback is set before the episode in which Phoebe give Monica the picture.

Same here, people take it far too seriously! How can you really get annoyed at Friends? :D

I think it's just the two of us, it's my favourite episode!!!:D

The pottery barn episode springs to mind.
Sorry, I wasn't very clear! It's TOWT Cookery Class, Season 8. Another example of making Joey into a complete idiot
I think it would be an older Friend as they all weren't the same age and Cheers is old, but I have no idea as I don't like Cheers.

Well you cared enough to check so congratulations. Very good she was too.
I was in the middle of an imdb search, you beat me too it!

This annoyed me too. He didn't even come to her wedding.
I don't think many people went to her wedding in a snowstorm and power cut.

The My Sandwich incident was Ross's finest hour!
