Ladies and gentlemen, it is my absolute pleasure to welcome you all back to The Twist Factor!
Not unlike last time, it's been a while since we've had one of these shows. In a very surprising turn of events, both Barry and April left the panel due to personal reasons, with the latter leaving DS altogether. You can imagine the problems such a drop-out can cause, but the combination of another category takeover and a little twist has got the show back on track again!
Before I elaborate on that twist though, let's recap what happened last show. At the end of last show, which was about money and crime, three acts from the top ten found themselves in the bottom 3. It wasn't just a normal bottom 3 either, as I recall it being quite a shocker. Anyway, after a fierce discussion between the judges on which act should go home, it was decided that Arin Ray would be leaving the competition, thus saving both Girl V Boy and Carolynne Poole from elimination.
Today, we'll start off with a twist like I mentioned earlier. As Barry dropped out of the competition, all of his acts will be removed from the competition. That means we'll be skipping to shows altogether, making a giant leap towards the final. I will announce the order Barry's acts finished in before the first performance takes place, based on their average scores so far.
After we've got that out of the way, we'll move on the main show. The top six will each be singing two songs today, one from a One Hit Wonder act, and one from any act in a bid to make it through to the final. It will be tough, as two acts will be leaving the competition tonight based on the public vote alone! But we're far from that at this point, so let's start at the beginning and allow me the courtesy of introducing you the remaining judges, their marvelous acts and our special guest judge!
Judges, your regular intro tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6uX0MWetHA
Team Kevin
Aiden Grimshaw
Beverly Savarin
Matt Defreitas
Team Steve
Little Mix
Girl V Boy
Tasha Pyne
And jackel1234 as our special guest judge!
A little on the late side, but I've done worse than this in the past!
Judges, are you all here and ready to get this show on the road again?

I'm also ready to reignite my friendly rivalry with Kev from The Mix Factor.
The act with the lowest average score, who will therefore be finishing in 9th place is:
This shouldn't be a huge surprise, considering she's been in the bottom 2 two times.
One show you're immune, and two shows later you're out, quite an interesting turn of events if I say so myself.
Well done Olly, you're the highest ranked act of team Jess/Barry/whatever
Anyway, opening the first half of the show, which is all about One Hit Wonders, it's the amazing
Tasha Pyne singing a cover version of High Hopes by Kodaline!

Well Tasha, this has been a very interesting turn of events as of late, but here we are. If your old mentor was here, I would be saying to her that this was an impressive song choice. It gave you the chance to showcase your voice clearly and with great control. It's only the first performance of the show but I sense something bigger in the next round, if you do get enough support. Well done, Tasha.
Ironically your last name basically descirbes how I felt about that performance Tasha. It really wasn't suited to you and the vocals of the singer didn't match yours at all. It was sort of like your mentor just chose a random song covered by a random artist and hoped that it would actually work which it doesn't. Also I believe this is a rulebreaker as Kodaline have topped the Irish charts twice once in 2007 and again in 2013 and I believe one hit wonders are meant to have one hit. Either way this wasn't a very good performance for you and didn't allow your strong vocals to come through in anyway shape or form.
Overall this is how I feel about that performance
Tasha Pyne
I love this song, it's one of my favourites at the moment and it's good that your mentor decided to take a risk with you but I have to admit that I was a little underwhelmed when I heard the actual performance, I don't know I don't think this cover did you any favours. Your tone is far more distinctive, there's a bluesy element to your voice which was totally missing in this performance, in fact this just felt like a generic female pop vocal, it wasn't anything different or special, it was okay but there was no wow factor with it Tasha!
Just to add, I don't think it's a rulebreaker, I mean I used Kodaline myself as EOS mentioned you could use either UK or US charts and they've only had one Top 20 in the UK charts.
My bad though it was British charts. Apologies to Tasha
I personally will never forget the song Matt Defreitas is going to sing now. His mentor Kev somehow managed to link an Atomic Kitten song in his initial PM, and I thought he'd gone crazy. Turns out it was an error, and the actual song Matt will be singing for us tonight is a cover of The Fear by Ben Howard!

When I saw the whole youtube cover thing I got worried as usually I don't think youtube cover artists suit acts when they're chosen. This on the other hand might as well of been you Matt. Seriously when I started listening I swore it was actually you for a second and I was  Kev literally chose the perfect cover for you in terms of style, vocals, range basically everything. Bravo to Kev on that front as that was extremely good!
overall this is how I feel about this performance
Let's move on to hear both another member of Team Kevin and tonight's second Kodaline song. It's the marvelous Aiden Grimshaw singing All I Want by Kodaline!

Well Aiden from when I have been watching this show you have basically been the front runner throughout and have actually never had a bad performance as far as I can tell and again you haven't disappointed. This is one of my all time favourite songs just for the emotion and story the music video tells and you translated that through the emotion you gave during that performance tonight. I loved seeing you try out your higher register and again this was a very good performance from you. Can't really fault it in many ways.
overall how I felt about that performance
I guess we'll have to wait and see. For now, let's listen to the act that has had the toughest ride here: Girl v Boy singing a cover mash-up of Over The Rainbow and What a Wonderful World by Eva Cassidy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N9BWCA9XRs
Oh Girl V Boy, I gotta give it to your former mentor, April here. Never in my mentoring career would I've gone for something like this. Never mind choosing a cover of one or the other or even finding a mash-up of the two. I thought that this was absolute genius and the parts were so on the money and continue to show so much chemistry. It's so amazing! I am so happy to have seen this.
Girl V Boy
Hmmm listen I am not sure what to say about this as although vocally the song suits the male in terms of his strong vocals and the females slightly weaker vocals the song just had no life to it whatsoever. It was sort of like all the life had been sucked out of the song and placed somewhere else which really did ruin the whole performance in my opinion. Although vocally it was decent I just wanted something that had life in it.
overall this is how I feel about the performance
More from Team Steve coming up right now, it's Little Mix singing Tightrope by Janelle Monae everyone!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8SL_2EYA60
Note: Ignore the rap sections, I couldn't find a solo version/appropriate cover. The chorus will be Perrie singing the melody and the other girls doing harmonies. The verses will be split between the other three girls.
