That crossed my mind too, she is making a big deal of this.
I think a deliberate act on her part to be centre stage no doubt thinking if she made enough fuss it would be changed therefore the whole show would be remembered for her.
A gamble that didn't pay off, well it did but just not for Gary.

She will not be invited to many post BB events if Arisa has any say in the matter, she was very firm with her, no "hey girl" chat.
Gary will be remembered as the one who was robbed, while his return at F4 will be forgotten.
The replays don't lie, Topaz made her choice and it was locked in
Unfortunately she made a fool of herself on national television and I reckon she will be getting a big telling off from the producers and/or Arisa for trying to steal the winner's moment
To be a fly on the wall at BB Canada towers at the moment.....:D
i feel bad for topaz but that was a fitting end to this season filled with so much insanity. aha.
i didn't like her or want her to win but congrats to jillian. i'm a supporter of twists/manipulation and stuff like this so i won't cry and complain because it didn't fall my way with this.
this season of big brother canada drained me, i'm going to look forward to the month off before i get back into it again with usa/uk.
i feel bad for topaz but that was a fitting end to this season filled with so much insanity. aha.
this^^
i don´t even know what to say about that ending ... i literally have no words. Draining season and i am glad its over. I put all my hope in BBUS 15 now, it can´t be worse than THAT.
But I'm glad Jillian will go down as the winner, ironically because of the mistakes of others. Just how it should be in BB.
I liked Gary but had he won it would have felt even more of a farce with a hand-picked winner who had spent time out of the game. And if Emmett won I would have been-.
Nice for a physically dominating and such a ruthlessly careless female player to get the win for a change. It's usually the men who play like that that get all the attention.
Jillian won the game.:D
Topaz got the blame.:o
Gary has the fame.:p
But seriously. I was happy with whoever won, but I'm actually so mad for Gary right now:mad::mad:!! How is he supposed to react knowing his best friend screwed him over? I don't think she really cares either, I mean, if I made my friend lose $100,000 I would actually be in tears from the guilt. Congrats Jillian, my favourite female contestant won!! Although, just to be a good sport, she should give a couple of thousand to Gary or something, after all that.
Thank goodness this mess of a season is finally over.
Im kinda sad and annoyed, firstly because it kinda happened to Gary. I just cant imagine what it must feel like, knowing basically you should've won, but taken away from you because one huge mistake made, not by you at all, but by your safest voter. And also, it kinda makes it a bit wierd that although Jillian is the winner, she only won because of the mistake. Like I think many people will see Jillian as being the winner, not because she played a better game, but because someone couldn't understand the rules.
On the other hand, it meant Jillian was the winner. Although I never like her, she did play one hell of an amazing physical and strategic game. Her only downfall was her social, which would've lost it for her if not the mistake. But its nice too have someone that great as the first winner, even if I dislike her
And finally I will love the finale for a long time, because it was soo memorable. I find finals boring sometimes. This one had so much craziness. It was just a perfect end, to a crazy series. Bring on BBUS, and season 2 off BBC!!!
What a delight this Finale was for rubber-necking fans of car crash reality TV! Classic; so bad, it was good!!
The signs of impending carnage were evident from early on when, as The Leaning Tower of Arisa talked to the 3 remaining HG's, Emmett and Jillian promptly spoiled the results of 2 of the final 3 HoH competitions. After the producers cut the live feed permanently, specifically to avoid their precious finale being spoiled.
Then we were shown the competitions, which were clearly geared for the men to dominate physically, in other words, rigged against (Evil) Jillian and in favour of (Darling) Gary. Gary and Emmett emerged triumphant ofcourse, then Gary defeated and then evicted Emmett. I thought Emmett played a near immaculate game (very like his equally boring clone, Hayden from BBUSA), falling at the final hurdle because he chose to evict the useless Talla, instead of the far more dangerous Gary. Big Brother 101: Always evict the stronger competitor (particularly after the Jury has begun).
I still maintain that Gary, having been evicted, should have stayed evicted. His return was one rig too far IMO, not that this game ever had any integrity, but still. Having said that, I was mightily impressed by his intelligent subversion and ultimate destruction of the East Coast Alliance. He definitely earned his F2 place, even if he didn't deserve it.
Then we met the Jury. Does Canada possess a more vacuous individual than AJ? I hope not, for their sake! And there was I, thinking there could never be a more useless BB player than Lawon, who knew? Alec appeared, attempting to associate himself with BB greatness by wearing a shirt stating "Only Will Can Judge Me". Will Kirby wouldn't demean himself by even admitting knowledge of Alec's existence. And poor, pitiful, bitter, socially inept Peter. Referring to Jillian as "Villian" and "idiot", because she outplayed him; stabbed him, reversed back over his bleeding body, then drop kicked his carcase over the wall. He revealed a total absence of class, which was cast into even stronger relief, by gracious comments from Tom (!!!) to Peter and Alec.
Then the coup de gras for this production: the stupidity of Topaz. Despite constant cheerleading for Gary, she somehow managed to vote for Jillian, giving her the win. It says much about this season that her first thought was the producers had rigged the vote. It was a delight to see Emmett exultant when he realised the 4G alliance was incompetent to the end. Poor Topaz; owned by Jillian in and out of the BB house.
Bring on BBUSA. Grodner likes her rigging too, but at least she's competent.
- It's a shame about Topaz's mistake. But, Gary took it well, and he at least has the knowledge that, if the vote went as intended, he would have won. I feel bad for Topaz, she probably feels awful, but mistakes happen, she didn't do it on purpose. I wanted Gary to win, and he very nearly did.
- I totally went off Alec when he seemingly had a personality change around Week 5 / 6, but to see him on the verge of tears himself when Gary got emotional showed what a lovely guy he really is, that was a nice moment.
- Emmett is a hypocrite. So, Gary was undeserving because of his second chance, but he decided to evict Talla over him? That doesn't add up. He was mad about being evicted, that's all. Grow up, Milk Man.
Well at least there were a couple of twists at the end.
First Gary winning the last competition. Really didn't want him to win, but at least somebody finally made a move against Emmitt. Unfortunately we later had to hear the Gary sob story. I really wish Talla had got to the end rather than him, she was much more naturally funny.
Then the whole controversy at the end was a nice surprise. Peter obviously bitter, how was it justice that Gary should win? Andrew though voted better, still think he was one of the better HGs.
The camerawork wasn't great. When the votes and comments were made, and during the whole controversy at the end we should have seen the reactions of the final two to everything. We didn't and that annoyed me. And of course the moment when the winner is announced the focus is meant to be on the final 2 in the house.
Also inevitably in this format so much of this is scripted. The jury house discussion sounded like they had planted questions, and then when they spoke to the camera and voted it looked all rehearsed. Big Brother is better when things are more off the cuff and that links to the live aspect which should be the cornerstone of it. That's what made the Topaz controversy refreshing, it looked like it wasn't scripted. The host handled it alright too.
Comments
Topaz, er whoops
Guess we should be thanking you for stopping Gary winning
The camerafolk and editors must have had a laugh when they saw what she had done.
I think a deliberate act on her part to be centre stage no doubt thinking if she made enough fuss it would be changed therefore the whole show would be remembered for her.
A gamble that didn't pay off, well it did but just not for Gary.
Absolute chaos though, and not the way the finale should have ended because of Topaz being so stupid
We were on course for a Gary win IMO, if Topaz hadn't of f'd up there
But well done Jillian, just a shame it ended the way it did with Topaz trying to be centre of attention and taking away the winner's moment
Gary will be remembered as the one who was robbed, while his return at F4 will be forgotten.
I would love to be backstage now.
150% secure! She even said it twice.
Arisa looked miffed at the end I think she knew that Topaz was pulling a publicity stunt.
:D
Unfortunately she made a fool of herself on national television and I reckon she will be getting a big telling off from the producers and/or Arisa for trying to steal the winner's moment

Note to future HGs: Although I don't have any experience voting for a winner, double check your vote when the game is on the line. #BBCAN
@********* #BBCAN We'll be getting her (Talla's) take in the next 30 mins. The jury was definitely briefed on how voting worked by the producers.
