Steven Moffat is the ultimate troll. He answers one question, and leaves us with a thousand more.

That was bloody amazing. I'm used to finales not quite living up to expectations, but that was the first Doctor Who finale to genuinely blow me away.

Liked it, could've done without all the River Song stuff though, as I've never quite understood the appeal of the character. But that's The Moff for you I suppose.

No he's not he's not even the 12th Doctor from that scene I get the feeling he is in fact a past Doctor one we didn't know about one who did something so bad The Doctor had to lock him away and maybe even erase the memory of him so even he didn't know about him.

John Hurt could either be an alternate timeline doctor or the final doctor (the one whose grave they've just been to).

Moffat is a god and must be from gallfrey

That would make Moffat a Gallifreyan, not a God

It makes sense with the "not in the name of The Doctor" part.

Surely he's the Valeyard? Given that they said he doesn't use the name of the Doctor, and that he's done something evil. Simeon didn't mention the Doctor for nothing.

Either that, or he's the 9th, and all the others are one along from where we thought they were. Has it ever actually been said in the show, aside from just now, that Chris was 9, David was 10, and Matt was 11?

    That's what I thought!

Didn't the GI mention that one of the names the Doctor had was The Valeyard?

    Fantasmic!!!
I just thought of something. We saw all the Classic Doctors in that episode EXCEPT The Eighth. Now this could be simply down to the BBC not wanting to be associated with the TV Movie or maybe John Hurt is the Eighth Doctor at the end of his life. After all, the eighth Doctor is the one who most probably killed all the Time Lords and the one the Doctor himself would want to forget.
He certainly was wearing clothes similar to McGann's Doctor.

    Hmmm........

The beginning of the episode was brilliant, just brilliant. The whole concept of Clara always being there through the Doctor's timeline was genius and they pulled it off really well, visually even.

The Clara stuff, in general, was top quality though Moffatt stating that we'd never work it out, I'm sure I read a thread on here the other day saying "Clara must be an echo..."??

Meanwhile, I'm disheartened with the River storyline and frankly, quite confused. Is that the end? "SPOILERS...!" - Er, Moffatt, you said there would be no more teasing?!

Too many questions left unanswered so I'm disappointed.

When the show restarted Eccleston had just regenerated, but we never saw it happen, we just assumed it was from Paul McGann, perhaps not after all.
