I only asked because chris said about minimising windows as opposed to closing windows. (The default behaviour of closing all windows not quitting an application being unique to Mac).
Whilst I find this behaviour annoying, the worst part about it is the inconsistency. In some applications closing the last window will close the application, in others it won't.
On the discussion of applications on the dock, I have it set to collapse windows into their icon as oppose to minimising them to the right of the dock. I find this way mimics the way I prefer under Windows 7. Press and hold the left mouse button on the application icon and it Expose's (the feature) the open windows - nice.

Wasn't Expose deprecated and replaced with Mission Control? I remember there has been some sort of change to Expose in the last few iterations of OS X.
For example, the red button at the top left of a window sometimes closes the program down and sometimes leaves it running in the background. This can be seen in iTunes where the red button leaves it running but in iPhoto it closes the program.
The same can be said with the full screen button, it's only there is some apps.
EDIT: Having read other posts I realise that The Rat has already mentioned this

It was replaced in OSX Lion. IIRC Snow Leopard still has Expose.

Yes it was. The principles were partially retained but its simplicity was lost. Pity really. I even use an Expose clone on Windows because I think it is still one of the best window management tools.

I've been using it since 2006, I don't notice any cons anymore (not saying they don't exist, I just don't notice any anymore).
All the stuff mentioned in this thread doesn't bother me as it's default behaviour for me after 7 years. If anything using Windows can be a bit grating for me, although I only use OS X or XP and obviously with XP being so old, I am well used to all of XP's quirks too.
I can't get to grips with Windows 7 when I am forced to use it at university to print stuff out. The taskbar confuses me, the active/unactive state isn't too obvious so when you have 8 different PowerPoint or Word documents open, I never know which I have open and which ones are minimised... I've ended up printing the same document about three times before because of this (although this is majorly off-topic!).

Your lucky, at my uni we are still using Windows XP

Expose was best way back on Panther, with the windows resizing properly (so bigger windows were bigger in Expose). It changed for the worse (IMO) on Tiger or SL.

Mine was as well until late 2011. TBH I wish they had stayed with XP. The W7 machines are crap. They've only got 2GB of RAM and they take forever to boot. Having more than one program open at the same time causes the whole thing to crash.
There are several options. I personally use Dexpot for virtual desktops which has the impressive Window Catalogue feature - coupled with DexControl it is a fantastic window and desktop management software.
Other options are Bao Nguyen's Switcher (http://insentient.net/) and Microsoft's own Instant Viewer as part of the Intellipoint software.
Most annoyances for me were caused by being too used to Windows and not knowing the Mac shortcuts or understanding the differences in the behaviour of certain keys (Home, End etc). But that's knowledge and habit so only a con for a short time.
As with a few users who need more out their file browser, I find Finder a bit lacking.

I have to copy and paste the hash symbol from Google as I don't know the shortcut to get it.
It's alt-3 on mine.
press option/alt + 3

I've used iSnap in the past to get around this: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/isnap/id420332190?mt=12
Apparently Cinch is better, though: http://www.irradiatedsoftware.com/twoup/
The extended keyboard does have a del key.
Yep, as Big M mentioned in post #2 the menubar only exists on the primary monitor.
Yeah me too. I've got an XP computer in that caught an STI. i keep trying to snap stuff.

Just downloaded Cinch, nice app, thanks for the heads up.

What on earth were you doing to that computer?!:D
Yep Alt + 3, inexcusable laziness when they did the british keyboard and replaced the # with £ ( Americans call the # symbol pound ).
Yet on my keyboard Alt + 2 brings up € which is printed on the key so why couln't they print the # on the key ?

And what's the name of this clone?
I think I can guess Make sure you use protection next time
