I think it's more to do with change in style. Presenting a show now involves a lot more shouting and mugging at the camera like a ****ing idiot. I think we have Dermot, Davina and their ilk to thank for that.

Or being fixated to that autocue and talking over everyone else's answers having not listened to a word:rolleyes:
Bit more recently whatever happened to Fiona Phillips, once one of the ITV golden girls, and Christine Bleakley who seems to have disappeared completely from ITV screens.
I used to love Gaby Roslin, at one time she was all over the BBC presenting Children in Need, A Jim Fix it type show on Saturday nights What ever you Want, TV Greatest Hits, Watchdog and a day time show as well and she then presented BBC1's 2000 today and was on air for a record 20 odd hours. I heard she is on radio now.

At this very moment she is doing a report on Watchdog.

Davina was alright on Don't Try this at Home after that was when she become very shouty, same with the V/O guy Peter Dickson fine on Bruce's Price is Right after that become very loud and started shouting his words for no reason.
The main thing these woman had was youth, once that's gone it's all over.
This.
Women seem to get on in TV rather more through looks than men - but of course that means their shelf life also tends to be more limited. That's the impression I have.

On watchdog tonight by god she has aged badly, Bleakley is desperate to return to the BBC now her ITV contract is not going to be renewed.
Rod Hulls daughter Catriona was a presenter on Sky with DJ Kat, she used to get me up in the mornings.:D
She's been doing a C5 series about cowboy builders with Dominic Littlewood, not bad actually.
Yes I saw Fiona Phillips on Watchdog - terrible piece but then she only got work because her husband was the editor of GMTV (before he got the boot).
Doubt the BBC would be interested in taking Bleakley back after she messed them around.

She's a decent presenter, but they ought to offer her less than she was getting from them when she left. Just as a pointer to anyone else tempted to chase the money that the grass isn't always greener...

Zoe Ball was annoying too, the 90s Fearne Cotton.
.
Isn't she involved with the Postcode Lottery promotions these days?
I notice Carol Smillie was in the paper this morning.

Turns out that Sarah Beeny's been following the trend as well!

You say that but Davina McCall has been around forever and is no spring chicken

You say that like it's a bad thing.
:D:D:D
Pity.
How Did She Do That?
Pops up from time to time doing the Daybreak competition question
