The weather is perfectly normal for the time of year. Wimbledon is starting, and the tournament gets disrupted by rain more often than not.

Why do people have such short memories that they are unable to take this on board and understand that this sort of weather is quite usual for Britain in summer?

I'm not sure it's usually this chilly so late in June. Wet, yes. Cold, no.

Not a sign of sun here right now. Sky's full of cloud.

13 degrees here which is a perfectly acceptable temperature as far as I'm concerned.

However, I will be reasonably happy so long as it stays nice and cloudy.

Usually about 15 or 16 on a cloudy day this time of year from memory, at least in my part of the world. Today it's 12.

It isn't normal for my neck of the woods. I can remember very hot summers. I used to be able to put my parrot out from May to September sometimes even October.

Now we seldom see the sun.

I see some people are unable to tell the difference between cold and 'not hot'.

While I don't like being in unbearable heat - I do like the warmth of the sun & the different mood it gives me/us.
Anything above 30C is too much IMO. Hence on hot days I prefer the garden where I can go in doors & shower or sit in the cool, have the availability of toilets, a fridge etc.

But this weather is a bit ridiculous - i know we can do nothing about it but my culinary herbs are so confused & going to seed ready!:(

    What weather is ridiculous?

June has been distinctly average and rather lovely in Scotland

Put your parrot out? Is that a euphemism?

Remember the bit in Harry Potter where the Dementors breed all over the country causing chilly fogs in July?

What is the government covering up?!?

No, we've had below average rainfall, temperatures and sunshine amounts.

Sunshine hasn't been too bad compared to last year's freakishly poor June, but it's been inflated by the first 10 days of the month which were widely fine.

Since then, though, it's been largely dross.

Today has been very pleasant - a temperature which is warm enough to walk about in without feeling uncomfortably hot, and a nice covering of cloud to hide the strong burning sun.

I can't see what anyone could possibly find wrong with this.
