I've had an idea. Seeing as the BBC's Regional News, along with other evening schedules, will inevitably be moved from BBC One to BBC Two at some point over the next fortnight in order to accommodate some primetime BBC One tennis coverage, I thought it would be a tremendous idea to have a thread dedicated to it.
People can then whinge as much as they like without cluttering up the Broadcasting forums with thread after thread on such a non-event.
So, moan away...

thats a good one!
So.......
Erm......
Nope, can't think of anything to whinge about.
Since the Beeb is the 3rd best provider of local news up here, I think we'll cope but I'll do some mock outrage
who are the top two?
No, that simply opens up another excellent whinging opportunity - why isn't BBC2 regionalised?
well if the BBC had desinged their digital sysytem so that the regional system could be switched from BBC 1 to BBC 2 whenever they wanted!
On DTT and Dcab they would just need to replace the main network feed on BBC 2 instead of BBC 1.
On Dsat Though it would appear a bit more complicated as all the regionalised streams are there all the time and the one for your region is designed to appear at the right place. The only way I see it working is to have all the streams for BBC 1 and BBC 2. I suppose that BBC 2 streams could just be utillised at the time of sporting events ect. Meaning that there is just the network feeds most of the time and the days that the BBC need BBC2 regionalised, the BBC just activate them during the night in the preview loop time ahead of when they think they would need them, then remove them in the preview loop after they needed them.
Complicated but at least it would be seemless to the viewer!
It's not like we are still in the 60's and 70's when not everyone had BBC2.
ITV Tyne Tees (And Border) - in terms of ratings
Sky Tyne and Wear - in terms of content
Oooh ,,,,, we could get the complaints & moans in really early on in the tournament!
Murray on BBC2
Cost - it is regionalised in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland but not England where the relatively few opt-outs are accommodated on BBC1.
They do regional news on Sky News?
They have an online presence, studios and an app dedicated to news in the area yes though not available on conventional tv though they produce a lot of the nufc stuff for their big brothers Sky News and Dky Sports
Dky Sports? That should make for interesting viewing...
This thread is a preemptive whinge thread on something that hasn't happened and only may happy but people want to moan in advance that it may/may not happen in the two weeks of the No 1 Tennis -GRAN SLAM event of the UK.
All I say is Come on Andy,
If you Win your British and if you loose your Scottish!!!
Bloody Samsung keypad
Isn't the country now completely digital? If so, it can go somewhere on the the red button and not affect those who don't enjoy tennis.
Indeed.
I'm thinking of people like my late mum who could never get any further than BBC1, 2 , ITV, and CH4 because anything else was too complicated. Believe it or not a lot of elderly people are like that. I don't begrudge them their tennis- so bung it on BBC2.
