Sounds pretty good. It's always important to lay the groundwork for the series in the pilot episode. But I think it'll take about 3 or 4 episodes before we see if this show really is good or not.
Im already "Acquiring" this. My usual "providers" must have got it from the earlier time zone tonight. They usually provide form the later time zone but not for this one. Shoudl have this in the next while! Excited!

It hasn't even aired in the Eastern time zone yet. It was probably made available early on Video On Demand or something.

Yeah. I'm in New York and the show doesn't start until 10pm - which is 30 minutes from now. I'm a little surprised at the time. Was expecting it to be an 8pm or 9pm show. I wish I took an early nap.
Just finished watching. Ill refrain from commenting given from your comments that it still hasnt aired States-side LOL There was no TV Channel DOG or ID on screen so can't say from where it was sourced, but all the regular providers have listed the episode at the same time so Moretears must be right - perhaps it was made available earlier on VOD.
Will just say that I really enjoyed that. Thought the first episode did a very good job introducing the story especially since it was a normal length episode too! Will definitely come back for this. Nice pacing throughout too and not in the least tedious or boring. Thumbs up!
BTW nice to coincide Moretears - its been ages! I haven't frequented the forum much in the last year tbh. Nice to see you about. Hope you're keeping well!

Yes, I have seen your posts in a few places, but we don't seem to be following -- or at least commenting -- on the same shows.:) I seem to post more in the US Shows forum than the Cult forum lately.
I thought it was interesting that all the previews showed the dome descending and smashing into the ground.. but in the show itself, the dome just "appears".. you don't even know anything is wrong until the cow...
I already hate Junior and wish he was dead.. which is a good sign I guess. I can also tell they've already drifted away from the book.
The acting and dialogue is pretty awful...I'm not really sure what to think.
I've been looking forward to this since it was picked up by SHOWTIME back in 2009..

Yes I'm not keen on Junior, can't really stand when something extraordinary happens, but we still have to put up with 'normal' killers in a tv show.
"The season premiere of UNDER THE DOME on CBS brought in a massive 13.1 million viewers and a 3.2 adults rating in the 18-49 demo, making it CBS' biggest premiere since 2 Broke Girls"
I bet CBS are regretting airing this in the summer now

Why do these mystery shows always have an animal in the midst of the chaos?
First you had the polar bear in Lost
Then the kangaroo in FlashForward
Now a cow in Under the Dome
What next?
Trending worldwide and all the comments on Twitter are positive (apart from all the scientific inaccuracies)
Now off the bed, 4am

Great pilot - but will it do a "Flash Forward" on us and be ultimately unsatisfying?

I think optioning actors for shows is fairly standard practice nowadays, so it's not really any indicator of anything.
I like the idea of this and the trailer looks interesting, but I'll probably wait until it's on Channel 5.
Can't wait
Ehh....hmm...
The acting and dialogue is pretty awful...I'm not really sure what to think.

I'll see how the next few episodes pan out
Which side of the dome is he on in the book? Looks like he is outside in the series.

I liked the Damien Hirst bit.
Rachelle Lefevre with her hair and lips. hmmmm.
and the casting of Barbie is still an atrocity...
Should've been played by someone alot older...imo Thomas Jane
Yes he was very good in 'The Mist' and would have been great in this as that type of character.
Shame they've put Rusty on the other side of the dome.
