Ive probably watched it 4 times haha. It really is a grower of a song. I hope it works for them.
I know its out independently, is it on Mel's label?
no, the label is listed as "Matt Cardle", so I guess you could say it's a *true* independent release - it's going to be on Matt's next album (out October 28th, btw), for which Absolute Marketing will be in charge of marketing/promotion

It's got the same kind of old school, "disco gospel" sound that Rolling In The Deep has. A real foot stomper.
i said that the first time i heard the song back on page 1 and it still feels similar in a good way. tonight i heard the song played on "heart radio", so its slowly getting some commercial airplay. i really hope it does well, i think matt and mel`s voices work well together and the song is pretty catchy.
(I can't actually bring myself to watch, so let me know :D)
It is so wrong they ignored him in this - I mean, the entire mash up is conveniently based on 1D melody (Simon's doing no doubt:rolleyes:) but they couldn't at least put a verse of the X factor winner - that is so wrong!

How can you say that when the song doesn't start or end with a 1D melody
On topic. This is the first song of Matt's I have really liked and love the video. Fingers crossed it does well!
ETA just seen the longer version and it does start with 1D BUT they really don't get any more air time than anyone else and it certainly doesn't finish with them so still don't get your point!!

Well, I don't know how you can't hear that almost the ENTIRE song has a WMYB beat and melody seriously. listen to it again - it is SO obvious it doesn't matter that the words of the song are not used and that they are not aired - almost the entire song has a WMYB melody, listen to it very carefully again.
Anyway... I just can't believe they even have Union J who had ONE single so far and not Matt - shame on them.
I was pleasantly surprised with this collaboration. Their voices go really well together. I like that its understated but that probably means it won't do well.
The new single by Matt Cardle and Melanie C 'Loving You' will receive it's world premiere this morning on Radio 2. A 1:30 preview can be heard and the single pre-ordered here:

interesting piece from Music Week about it: http://www.musicweek.com/news/read/matt-cardle-chooses-absolute-marketing-for-independent-release/055388
That's cool. I hope it works out for them, love it!

Matt really has been f#*ked over by them it seems.
The song is actually a strong pop song (perhaps not what "the kids" would download)
I could imagine it would appeal to an older audience.

you make an interesting point - one seemingly supported by this video "celebrating" 10 years of XF... anyone conspicuous by their absence?

Lots of chemistry between him and Mel too... hmm.

lets get real pop back in the charts
im sick of slutty women and drug fuelled/foul mouthed hip hop
sounds like a plan to me - there's a Spanish version available as well, if anyone's interested

But just spotted it's at 86 on iTunes with ore-orders so finally gave it a fair listen.
I have to say I'm surprised and rather impressed, it's a catchy song, and I think their voices blend well together.
It reminds me a bit of "Broken Strings" - if this catches on in the same way, it could potentially be a big hit.
