OMG if you folks want to see a show that not only makes the premise part of the show, but also does characterisation well, then you need to see 'United States Of Tara'.
I can't stop watching it.
The premise is about a woman who suffers from DID (Dis-associative Identity Disorder) or Multiple Personalities.
The DID is similar to the dome in a way, but this show actually make the DID part of the show and still has characters who are fully fleshed out and who you actually like.
If only Under the Dome was as well written.
Sounds great. Might check it out. I always wondered what that show was about and never bothered to google it. I'm guessing the title is trying to refer to the main character's multiple personalities? Pretty cute .

I'd highly recommend the series. I've almost finish the 3 seasons and don't really want it to end. But it is definitely a good example of a well acted and written series. Toni Collette is brilliant playing the main character and her alters.
Brie Larson is very good too, but then again so are all the actors.
Really enjoying this.... episode 4 was definitly the best yet!
Next week looks like its some sort of visitors day!
By the looks of the ratings, this is definitly going to get renewed and dragged out for all its worth...but I don't care.. it's a very fun summer show!
Haha yes. I wonder if Obama will show his face to give support to the inhabitants of Chester's Mill .
On a serious note, next week seems like a good time to really develop the characters as they come face to face with their family members from behind the Dome.

I see. I'll definitely check it out once I get some time off work . Thanks.
The show is okay, the only big mis-step, for me, being what they're doing with Julia, her dead husband and Barbie's connection with it. Because this (seemingly) doesn't involve the dome, at all, it's a little tiresome. Without spoiling anything, Julia is a much better character in the book.
For anyone considering quitting the show, I wouldn't cause, again without ruining it, there are some brilliant moments later in the book that they definitely won't be cutting. As for them carrying it on to a 2nd season, I don't mind that at all.
So anyone hoping for this to be 13 episodes and done .. you will be disappointed
"The season finale ends with a hell of a cliffhanger, so if we're not lucky enough to come back for a second season, you're screwed!"
Also, Angie will see the light of day before episode 6, but her luck will run out ... whatever that means
Sounds like she's a goner. Maybe she escapes and runs out of the bunker onto the road and revels in the fresh air only to be hit by a car:) one of those ironic deaths where it turns out junior was right when he told her it wasnt safe out there
Really struggling with this one. Lots of implausible situations and events. Early days so I'll personally stick at it, but not hopeful this is going to get much better.
I was totally expecting the revernds eyes to snap open again at the end as Big Jim walked away. Didnt enjoy this episode at all. There was no real sense of jeopardy. It was obvious the bomb wouldnt work because if it did the series would be over after only 5 eps and it would be a bit of a damp squid.

Now I actually thought this episode showed a marked improvement. The jeopardy for me came from the people and how they might react - secrets confessed, actions taken - that could be detrimental to themselves because they think they are going to die and we, the audience, knowing it is a 13 week run know that they will live.
There was some character development, the Dome was utilised rather than just there, we have a taste of what is going on outside the Dome, nice back reference to the cement works and the alternate route out.
That said, I don't think this slight improvement in quality is going to last & if it doesn't I may drop it before the end of the season as I would hate to go out on a cliff hanger as much as I would hate it dragged on over a second (or more!!) season.
Oh come on. Electrical items explode when near the dome, but a Windows 8 tablet doesn't?
And a windows 8 phone.
Hmm does Microsoft sponsor this show?
What part of impenetrable dome don't people understand?
I think its only the electrical items on the inside that get fried near the Dome. For the last few episodes scientists on the outside have using electrical equipment to test and take readings of the Dome so the outside of the Dome doesnt seem to affect electrical stuff

Oh right, I Missed that.
Still it was blatant product placement.
Will they have to use Green screen all the time or will they just film at a part of the dome that wasn't scorched?
I have to wonder if they did it on purpose so they didn't have to film in a real street.
Actually they do sponsor the show, they have a mention at the end of the credits.
Or it happens in the novel
I haven't read it, so I can't say.
Promo for next week says "If you're not one of the 40 Million People Watching..You're Missing Out!!"
Must be doing extraordinary in DVR, Repeats, Amazon Prime etc......
Expect a renewal any day now
Don't forget international broadcasts. Australia, Canada, France, India, Russia, Italy, Israel, South Africa...
I wonder how long Channel 5 are going to hold on to the rights before they show it in the UK... as long as possible, no doubt.
It would make a good pair up with S2 of Person of Interest on a Sunday night.
Its fairly spot on except for a few characters and the Junior/Angie story is different.
If anyone wants to know what happens with them in the book
Episode 5 was easily the best yet.
Nope!
