As someone has already said on the page, I initially thought that was just an alternative version of the original! It's not as bad as I was expecting. He certainly didn't murder the track in the way that, to my ears, James Arthur did "Impossible". Having said that, I can't listen to Christopher's recording without picturing him singing it on stage in his corny style! I'd happily forgotten that sort of thing...
I've never disliked an X Factor contestant as much as I disliked Chris, but you've got to give it to him, this is a decent single. It's not my sort of music, I wouldn't have brought the record, but it's not bad. While, much to my irritation, I can picture him singing it on stage, the single is listenable. It would have got to number one, and so if he had won, he wouldn't have quite killed The X Factor.
I'm interested in hearing Union J's winners single. I read that they recorded Demi Lovato's Skyscraper? That would have been good.
It's not terrible but it's not what you'd want as an X Factor winners song in 2012. Maybe in 2002, but not last year. If he won it would of been the biggest step back for X Factor.
Ugh are you all hypnotised by Maloney? It's a dreadful single. Impossible was so much better. Maloney murdered this song just as he ruined all those classics!
Aww. I thought it was going to be a joke topic to a link of Grandma we love you or something. I'm a bit disappointed
It's better than I thought it'd be I suppose (Based on the 30 or so seconds before I got bored), but I still don't see myself ever listening to it again.

Impossible by James Arthur is without question, one of the worst cover songs of all time.
James is also exceedingly ugly, which doesn’t help either.
I agree, the song isnt actually that bad amazingly, but he would not have been a good winner for X Factor. Rarely has a competent (?) singer annoyed me so much since it seemed Chris had no idea how to deliver a song in its appropriate style, and would just bellow all the lyrics in the same way with little or no emotion or not knowing the story of the song. Very poor
^ Probably. The producers won't want any trace of Cher's recording anyway because they'd like us to think that "Impossible" was especially selected for James, rather than just having been picked from the leftover songs which they had the rights to record.

I still want Cher Lloyd's winners single to leak from a few years ago, that was 'Impossible' too.

I feel dirty

I'm still waiting for that too! It's very unlikely to happen now though. I'd also like to hear Amelia Lily's version of "Cannonball".
Although I've come to tolerate the track over time, I think his supposed singing in the first verse is pathetic.
I'm thinking they've probably been completely erased, sadly...
